The Safety Health & Environment Senior Analyst supports site-level deployment of SC Johnson’s Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) management practices to ensure compliance with local legal requirements and SCJ global standards. This individual will collaborate with managers, supervisors and shop-floor employees to identify and control health and safety hazards and adverse environmental impacts. While this role requires, safety, health and environmental technical knowledge and experience, success is equally dependent on developing and supporting “champions” within the site to drive day-to-day ownership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains Safety Health & Environment compliance assurance processes, including self-assessments and compliance calendars, to enable compliance with applicable laws, permit authorizations and company standards.
Supports managers and supervisors in effective shop-floor implementation of SCJ’s safety, health and environmental standards.
Facilitates the deployment of employee-driven safety and environmental teams and provides technical support for team activities that promote a safe, healthy and environmentally responsible workplace.
Maintains and analyzes data from internal audit processes, to proactively identify conditions and behaviors that can lead to Safety Health & Environment incidents.
Partners with assigned stakeholders to drive timely, effective closure of identified Safety Health & Environment - related corrective and preventive actions.
Champions the investigation of safety and environmental incidents and ensures that corrective and preventive actions that address root causes are effectively deployed across the site.
Collaborates with the site’s engineering and maintenance teams to ensure that inspections, testing, preventive maintenance activities associated with Safety Health & Environment - critical equipment and applicable high-hazard chemical processes are defined and appropriately documented.
Verifies the accuracy of data in the company’s Safety Health & Environment database (e.g., Entropy) and analyzes the data to identify loss trends that can contribute to injuries and illnesses, adverse environmental impacts and Safety Health & Environment process non-conformances.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology / Industrial Design, Chemical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or equivalent engineering program.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Fire Protection, Environmental Science, Engineering or related discipline preferred
1-3 years of Safety Health & Environment technical responsibility in a global manufacturing organization
