Manufacturing Operations Manager

The Regional Manufacturing Excellence Operations Manager is a key resource to lead the connection between the Global Manufacturing Center of Excellence standards and the individual Site Leadership application.  They will be engaging with the global, regional, and local leadership teams to coordinate project work, conduct loss analysis and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing facilities within an assigned region.  It is also a strategic partner for the Regional Director MFG in building and implementing the vision.  This role will be implementation and best practice sharing focused.

Primary Accountabilities:

Lead loss deployment against any and all plant/global metrics

Lead loss teams, kaizen events and problem solving for break-through projects within manufacturing sites.

Ensure reapplication of best practices throughout the region and escalate as required

Drive total end to end savings projects throughout the supply chain

Manage key metrics as assigned from beginning to end and report out to NAEC as required (team capability)

Creative partner to ensure our capabilities/strategy are continuously adapting to fit our manufacturing needs

Coach manufacturing leadership teams with regards to Manufacturing Excellence tools and techniques as required

Preferred Competencies:

Lean/Six Sigma – Demonstrate ability to utilize lean six sigma tools: VSM, Loss analysis, competency gap assessments, AM through steps 3, BD Analysis, etc.

Business Acumen – Understand business applications/possibilities both internal and external

Results Driven – bottom line oriented using creative solutions as required

Technical Savvy – Leverage MDI, Tableau, SAP, Entropy, Excel…

Communication – Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills

Interpersonal Savvy – Ability to build strong rapport with team members from around a region

Courage – Ability to facilitate large groups and all levels of employees

Coaching – Build capabilities with local teams and track skills at a regional level

Preferred Education and Experience:

Lean Knowledge – 3 years of experience in TPM/Lean application in a manufacturing environment.

Leadership and Management – Proven strong leadership, people skills and communication abilities

Project Management skills - Knowledge of our internal Project Management Process and how to succeed


Education – Bachelor’s degree and five years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, or a Master’s/Engineering degree  preferred with three years of experience

Travel – Up to 50% - North America and Canada
