Sr. Analyst, Demand Planning
Chicago, Illinois Job ID 20180 Apply- Act as a key player in the S&OP process as the process owner of Step 2
- Analyze historical and future demand inputs such as distribution changes, price changes, new product launches, and calculate their impacts on demand
- Make recommendations to enhance business processes, and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies
- Work with cross-functional partners on projects such as new product launches, obsolescence, and transitions to evaluate assumptions– new product forecast, pipeline fill, and cannibalization
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Finance on advertising and promotional plans and evaluate against performance from similar historical activities
- Work with statistical Demand Planner to ensure statistical models are creating sensible 24-month rolling baseline forecasts; help maintain cleansed history in APO at the appropriate level
- Ensure demand plan is shared in level of detail and timing required by internal customers and supply chain partners with documented assumptions, including risks and opportunities
- Conduct monthly root cause analyses on forecast error and identify corrective actions
- Measure, analyze, and communicate key process metrics and monitor adherence to key performance indicators, while driving continuous improvement
- Conduct Step 2 meetings with the cross functional teams
- Work with another Demand Planner on the brand to make sure forecast is aligned tops down vs bottoms up
- Collaborate with the Demand Planning team on new ways of working and establishing best practices within the team
- Collaborate with the Sales team on the long-term item level forecast and reconcile forecast changes at the account level
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 2-4 years of relevant work experience or an advanced degree with 1-3 years relevant work experience
- Military experience considered in lieu of education requirement
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related field required
- Minimum three years of combined experience in Demand Planning, Sales, and/or Supply Chain
- Experience in the CPG industry
- Experience with planning applications such as SAP, APO, or SAS
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across all levels within the organization
- Ability to drive action and influence decision making at all levels of the organization
- Strong analytical, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and presentation skills
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives
- Quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including business process metrics and measures linking to business KPIs
Job Requirements
- Primary work location is the SCJ Chicago office and periodic travel to Waxdale SCJ office (in Racine, WI) for meeting attendance
