Registration & Regulatory Compliance specialist and Raw Material data management

As a member of the GRRC team, this position will interact with the European business and global teams as appropriate, to ensure the timely translation and adoption of relevant regulatory policy into company processes and alignment and optimization of regional regulatory strategy consistent with business goals. Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Project / Pre-launch:
    • Project team participation: Input into project timelines and success criteria and attend relevant project meetings
    • Help manage regulatory issue identification, resolution and communication on projects: Capture and communicate issues as early as possible in the project.
    • Ensure all projects / formulations assessed through PLM in a timely manner following the most appropriate path for the business
    • Coordinate and assist the GSARA Functional Experts with the evaluation and critical review (and presentation) of data provided in support of compliance related activities (REACH, CLP and BPR etc.)
    • Review version requests and provide yes/no response to GSARA PM/RD&E
  • Post Launch:
    • Work with the Global Registration and Regulatory Compliance (GRRC) team to provide regulatory support for products in Market
      • REACH: Tonnage & reporting requirements
      • Cosmetics Regulation: Ensure the PIF files are maintained up-to-date
      • Biocides Regulation: Coordinate with biocides team to ensure continued compliance to BPR of existing portfolio and new acquisitions.
      • Support the PM/local compliance experts with any regulatory questions/challenges coming from local authorities
      • Ensure all compliance documents are fully aligned for all applicable regulations

  • Regulatory responsibilities
    • Support the Global Registration and Regulatory Compliance (GRRC) team to provide product-specific requirements based on detailed knowledge of relevant EU regulations to ensure all new products (NPD) are fully compliant with regulations. Ensure any new regulations / interpretations are understood and communicated to stakeholders
  • Maintenance of existing products with respect to growing regulatory issues & constraints: Changes / additions to legislation are taken account for the EU product portfolio
  • Coordinating and assisting with the Interpretation and Implementation of key legislation (REACH, CLP and BPR) impacting SCJ business activity in Europe Determining, negotiating, collating, reviewing and selecting appropriate data in support of product classifications, labelling and registrations.
  • To gain and develop knowledge of GSARA policies, procedure, processes and SOPs and, where appropriate, use opportunities to identify areas of improvement
  • Working with internal and external customers in the co-ordination, collation and submission of dossiers using the key compliance related IT tools (IUCLID, R4BP3, REACH-IT)
  • Company representation within appropriate Trade Association and/or Industry Groups


  • BSc or MSc degree (or equivalent) preferably in a related Science field (Chemistry, Biology) is strongly preferred
  • Strong work experience in compliance-related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work with different cultures
  • Strong knowledge of regional compliance, e.g.  REACH, CLP and BPR
  • Demonstrated communication skills, must be able to summarise and articulate technical information to diverse audiences both verbally and in writing
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Self-directed with a “can do” attitude and willingness to drive change
