Associate Manager - Graphics - MENAPT Region

Summary:

The Graphics Shared Services (GrSS) Regional/Local Associate Manager role manages the local graphics adaption processes for a single cluster and has supervisory responsibilities across a regionally distributed team of Local Graphics Specialists (LGS), 2-7 people, either contractors through our pre-media agency managed service or employees of SC Johnson.

50% of this position is regional leadership of the graphics team, ultimately accountable for timely and accurate adaption of specific labels, shippers, and other graphics efforts within the region.  This role is also accountable for the continuous improvement of Regional and Local graphics processes that aim to reduce workload, improve quality and speed to market. This role will also oversee translation services for the region they represent.

50% of this position is In-cluster artwork management of the day-to-day operations of the graphics process, using Esko’s WebCenter project management tool and supporting SCJ systems, such as, Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems. This role manages a high volume of graphics projects, working closely with internal SCJ teams, especially Marketing, the Global Graphics team and pre-media agencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

GrSS Regional/Local Associate Manager duties in regional leadership:

  • Best in class execution of local label and shipper creation
    • Responsible for Regional production metrics (FFU, RTFT, Reloops, Cycle time)
    • Accountable for the completeness of Local Master Text in the PIM system
    • Ensures local graphic requirements are incorporated into local labels and shippers
    • Acts as an escalation point for the LGS role, as well as key contact for local teams, pre-press agencies and translation services
  • Graphic process governance including compliance, enforcement & exception approval where required
    • Responsible for the effective auditing of process adherence for the GrSS Continuous Improvement of graphics processes
    • Responsible for maintaining established global standards across all cluster teams in region
  • Responsible for delivery of defined efficiency, effectiveness, and quality metrics
  • Responsible for translation services within region
  • Responsible for reviewing regional project forecast to identify where synergies may exist at the regional level
  • Responsible for graphics forecasting for region and for prioritizing X-category artworks in case of bottle necks
  • Responsible for direct management of the LGS team located in the region

GrSS Regional/Local Associate Manager duties in cluster artwork management:

  • Be accountable for flawless creation of local packaging labels and shipper cartons
    • Act as central project lead between cross-functional SC Johnson team (Marketing, Regulatory, Packaging Engineers, Quality, etc.), pre-media agency and translation services
  • Develop expertise with graphics systems, tools, and process, operating in a consultative manner, to become known as the “go-to” person for graphics
  • Actively facilitate and manage project deliverables and information for all tasks related to artwork completion
  • Proactively obtain project information from systems and cross-functional teams, to create “fit for use” packet handoffs that will enable pre-media agencies to develop graphics right the first time
  • Assist with the development of project timelines and prioritize the work accordingly
  • Upload project data and due dates into designated workflow tool, WebCenter
  • Maintain project status reports and metrics and participate in project status/planning meetings
  • Manage lead-time expectations for artwork, prepress and eCommerce imagery for on-time delivery
  • Participate in or lead hand off, kickoff and review meetings with Global GrSS, cross-functional teams and pre-media agency
  • Manage artwork approvals in WebCenter, summarizing required changes for the pre-media agency
  • Participate in post-production meetings to review completed packaging projects and compile learnings to help improve process
  • Identify opportunities for and assist in business process improvement

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • University Degree and 5-9 years relevant experience.
  • 3+ years of Graphics experience
  • 3-5 years of using strong influencing skills with cross-functional partners and external vendors
  • Proficient English language verbal and written communications for variety of audiences (all levels internal, multi-functional, external companies)

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience managing teams
  • Process improvement orientation
  • Candidate should be viewed as a change agent and have experience in change management
  • Managing distributed/remote teams is highly preferred

Job Requirements:

This is a full-time first shift position who will need to periodically attend off-hours Microsoft Teams calls to interact with the global GSS team and local team members.  Periodic travel will be necessary to effectively manage a global team; however, it is expected to be infrequent.
