As the Associate Manager, BPT Infrastructure & Ops (DevOps Engineer) you will be responsible for cloud and on-prem infrastructure technology management and code. You will configure, document, optimize and build workflow processes, infrastructure components and other new technologies our business partners require us to implement or support. You will investigate/recommend best practices, utilizing strong technical knowledge, collaboratively and support system engineering and operations team who are responsible for day-to-day operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Translate loosely defined requirements into solutions, utilize CI/CD Pipelines tools, and leverage configuration management such as Ansible as well as Desired State Configuration with PowerShell
Build, deploy, and administer infrastructure securely by means of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Cloud Native solutions, which also includes documentation and designing of new and existing processes as well as participating in incremental testing on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and generate quality code
Managing code and code deployments through SCM such as GIT, and developing strategies to bring new applications into code deployment pipelines and automating them
Collaborate closely with infrastructure teams (database, network, server/storage, client computing, platform management), functional teams, Global Information Management, security, and Application Development Maintenance and Integrations on IAC design, system availability, and proactively identify areas of improvement
Lead and participate in technical improvement projects implementing new processes, technologies, and infrastructures using SCJ project management technologies and then partner closely with global security team on architectural design and security related project implementations. Keeping a critical eye on everything we do; implement best practices
System support (3+ Level) for critical escalation, manage actions required to handle critical outage situation, software installation and configuration as required, automation mindset to continuously increase efficiency of the team, work with open-source technologies as needed and also with Agile methodologies and practices
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree for Information Technology/Computing/Engineering or work equivalent
Minimum of 4 years in Information Technology positions with at least Level 2 or level 3 application support experience is required
Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Cloud native solution, provisioning of enterprise infrastructure and application environments using Terraform, ARM templates, DSC, PowerShell, Azure automation, etc
Strong Conceptual ITIL knowledge and Network fundamentals is required
Familiarity with open-source configuration management and Linux scripting, knowledgeable with Backup and Storage, VMWare, Linux & Windows OS, and experience in Kubernetes / Containerization is a plus
