Summary:
The Application Transformation (AT) Program Manager is part of SC Johnson’s Global Solution Delivery function within the IT organization, reporting to the director for Application Engineering. The AT Program manager will be responsible for simplifying and modernizing SC Johnson’s application portfolio through application rationalization and migration to cloud. He/she will look for opportunities to optimize the application portfolio, reduce costs, improve overall efficiency, and address technical debt.
The AT Program Manager will plan and mobilize the projects needed to deliver the program and will provide oversight and guidance on the execution of the program. And this role will ensure the on-going integrity of the application inventory and leverage reporting tools to provide metrics on progress for this program.
This is an onsite role in Racine, WI.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work closely with the application stakeholders and enterprise architecture to determine the future direction for each application aligned with both the business roadmap and architecture strategy.
Develop application transformation plans and recommendations.
Lead selection and on-boarding of vendors to execute transformation efforts.
Oversee execution of transformation initiatives, ensuring timelines and financial commitments are met. Ensure external suppliers are delivering on their contractual obligations for the projects within the program.
Engage and coordinate across multiple vendors and IT and Business functions in execution of the program. Create good working relationships across the project team and stakeholders. Coach, mentor, and motivate project teams. Address team concerns and constraints. Build trust among the project stakeholders. Establish a positive experience for anyone connected to the program.
Create and deliver appropriate and effective communication to enable both technical and business teams to be aligned on the processes and outcomes for the program. Ensure alignment with Senior Leadership through regular project stakeholder communication and milestone updates.
Define and report on metrics to measure the success of application transformation program delivery.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related business degree. Military experience considered in lieu of education requirement.
5 years of experience in Information Systems, or combination of Information Systems and business experience.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Strong understanding of IT and Business applications and the ability to assess their effectiveness and value to the organization.
Cloud Delivery experience.
Practical business and financial knowledge. Understanding of IT systems, applications, enterprise architecture and analytics.
Experience in both traditional and agile project management methodologies. Experience working in a mature PMO with formal process, stage gates, reporting, financial tracking, etc.
Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down multiple business and technology organizations, to impact project direction through influence and collaboration.
Independently, and working with others, able to generate new, innovative ideas to improve consumer value and reduce costs.
