ABOUT THE ROLE

The Associate Manager, Corporate Sustainability is a member of the SC Johnson headquarters team. In this role, you will lead development and deployment of robust global enterprise-wide processes, tools, and training to support achievement of the organization’s carbon and waste reduction commitments. This role spans across all business units and their respective manufacturing sites, distribution centers, research and development labs and administrative offices. While this role ideally requires environmental and sustainability technical knowledge, success is equally dependent on developing and supporting “champions” within the organization to drive day-to-day sustainability ownership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops responses to GHG, waste and water data inquiries from internal and external stakeholders including customers, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and corporate communications

  • Ensures accurate carbon emissions measurement and reporting for Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions

  • Provides trend analyses and modeling to drive enterprise wide Scope 1 and 2 GHG reduction targets

  • Provides enterprise wide oversight on the measurement and reporting of waste metrics

  • Maintains awareness of proposed governmental or non-governmental carbon, waste and water requirements and provides early input to other Company functions of impending requirements in such a way that necessary changes are planned accordingly

  • Develops/maintains an enterprise wide playbook to measure and report Scope 3 GHG emissions

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability Studies, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline and 5+ years relevant work experience, or advanced degree in environmental science, Sustainability studies, civil engineering, chemical engineering, or related discipline and 3+ years relevant work experience

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in a global manufacturing environment

  • Advanced degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline preferred

  • Experience in environmental, facilities or manufacturing operations preferred

  • Ability to interact with others, establishing open, candid and trusting relationships to create win/win outcomes

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills that permit the clear and concise transfer of information to stakeholders

  • Project management experience to enable prioritization and management of multiple projects to completion

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Full-time core office hours with the expectation to be available for periodic meetings across time zones

  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required
