Associate Manager, Global Home Storage Base Business

As Associate Brand Manager, Global Home Storage Base Business, you will be accountable for supporting the brand marketing strategies for Ziploc, to build consumer demand and market share, grounded in deep consumer and market understanding. You will lead Ziploc’s growth strategies by managing base business expansion within existing markets, and by closely partnering with local/new markets to translate global strategies into locally relevant plans.  You will also represent local markets interests and needs in meaningful global initiatives (new product development, marketing commercialization, etc.) that promote expansion into new geographies as well as drive growth in existing business/geographies.  Additionally, you will partner with markets/clusters in Integrated Growth Planning against local problems to solve by building and aligning global solutions with local markets and senior regional leadership. This position is in SCJ’s Global Marketing team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with local markets to gain deep understanding of the category and the different business needs across the globe, becoming the expert on existing and new markets
  • Work with country teams to develop strategies that establish the Ziploc brand (in new markets) and build the category/brand (in existing markets) in collaboration with local market partners
  • Analyze and report business performance metrics (including, but not limited to sales and share), presenting summary reports to leadership on a monthly cadence
  • Manage and lead monthly performance and planning meetings with key local markets and partners
  • Assist in setting brand growth strategy for new markets that drive equity and shares in the Ziploc business
  • Work with country teams to develop strategies that establish the Ziploc brand (in new markets) and build the category/brand (in existing markets) in collaboration with local market partners
  • Lead commercialization process and launch of Ziploc products in new countries in partnership with Marketing Commercialization teams
  • Provide analysis in support of strategy development. Execute day-to-day responsibilities against business priorities that best align with the strategy
  • Develop an understanding of key global competitors within assigned business segment, and how they impact total segment and global competitive dynamics
  • Collaborate with cross functions to build and deliver a sound learning agenda, regulatory approvals and financial plans
  • Partner with markets/clusters in integrated growth planning against local problems to solve by building and aligning global solutions with local markets and senior regional leadership
  • Collaborate with key markets to develop a tailored strategy, from product portfolio and pricing strategy to communication, to drive meaningful growth with healthy financials
  • Leverage understanding of consumer/shopper motivations and behaviors to develop winning marketing plans 
  • Represent key markets needs and interests across different global projects. Work in partnership with your regional peers to ensure strategic fit and feasibility of new product developments and marketing innovation activities for international markets
  • Serve as a passionate brand steward, advocate and gatekeeper for Ziploc brand and the equities the brand has built
  • Understand consumer and shopper insights that drive segment priorities. Execute analysis and make conclusions/recommendations to support business initiatives and priorities.  
  • Synthesize multiple data points and needs from various teams to create strategies and tactics for entering/growing business in new markets
  • Serve as a passionate brand steward, advocate and gatekeeper for Ziploc brand and the equities the brand has built

REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong interest/experience in the CPG industry
  • Strong business acumen, with proven experience in financial analysis and strong understanding of managing a business P&L
  • Remove barriers by focusing on priorities, making timely decisions, and maximizing empowerment
  • Strong ability to understand and synthesize Nielsen/IRI data into meaningful and actionable strategy
  • Proven ability to define complex problems to solve and develop cohesive solutions and understanding that leads to actionable strategies
  • Analytic and creative thinking skills with a balance of commercial and strategic acumen
  • Ability to influence others; given high degree of multi-function interactions
  • Ability to break convention while operating in fast paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong bias for action, with an ability to see and manage risks
