The Associate manager of marketing operations & technology role is responsible for monitoring SCJ’s unified Workflow and DAM user experience and ensuring that those products are easy to use, drive speed and intuitiveness in task execution, and make marketing activities more efficient and effective. Typical activities might include: reviewing user feedback to determine potential defects or areas for clarity; working closely with SCJ’s BPT (IT) team, other marketing functional leaders, and external agency to plan and execute system integrations (API based); and continuously improve marketing tech systems end-user experience to ensure alignment with overall marketing processes and enable better ways of working.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive strategic advantage by developing operational excellence at the intersection of People, Process, and Technology.
- Quickly build expert knowledge of Brand Operating System (BOS) technology, processes, and workflows.
- Project Management
- Balance the needs of traditional waterfall project management budget and requirements gathering with next-generation Agile implementation techniques to drive speed-to-market
- Leverage Agile methodology to drive the BOS product development backlog prioritization and long-term technology roadmap development as a business Product Owner
- Partner cross-functionally to advance a technology-enabled Data Rights Management model.
- User Management
- Drive adoption and capability of BOS processes in all regions (global HQ and local)
- Manage security and end-user access to BOS to ensure speed and quality of A&P spend
- Manage traffic control of marketing plans and assets in BOS, apply auditing benchmarks, to identify and report recommended action plans to increase productivity
- Provide best-in-class customer service and troubleshooting of capabilities investments, and establishing process runbooks to ensure consistency in operating efficiency and effectiveness
- Analytics and Optimization
- Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and compliance.
- Monitor key metrics and run reports to track process progress of A&P content through BOS to keep on service level agreement (SLA) and wire with organizational milestones
- Partner cross-functionally to build robust data visualizations as part of the Self-Service Power Analyst program
- Interface with Business & BPT (IT team)
- With Business to qualify new or revised business requirements
- With BPT (IT) to help solve business user issues and address significant/minor enhancement opportunities for improved information architecture, wireframes, and business process flows.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- BS in Information Technology, Technology Management, Data Analytics and 5+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree and 3 years relevant experience
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Experience working with waterfall project management
- Experience working with Agile methodology (ceremonies, planning, and implementation)
- Cross-functional team experience
- Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
- Advanced degree preferred
- experience with marketing operating models (generally) at the global and local level
- Expertise in Digital Asset Management (DAM) technologies and content administration
- Expertise in data visualization software (i.e., Tableau)
- Experience or exposure to workflow technologies (i.e., Workfront, BaseCamp, Sitecore, Aprimo, Adobe, Opentext, Bynder)
- PMP®, PMI-ACP®, CAPM® or equivalent Agile certification highly preferred
- Demonstrated success in participating on cross-functional teams and influencing outcome
- Strong analytical skills
- High sense of urgency
- Passion for making a difference and helping the broader team win
- Masters complexity quickly and is adept at explaining complexity to others
