This role has both packaging and project management responsibilities to ensure great success in delivering complex projects:
Executing & leading packaging development of commercialization projects for the North America Region.
Lead packaging development for growth, business continuity, sustainability and cost saving projects, following the technical processes and procedures in place.
Make sure that technical deliverables are properly completed.
Develop special pack to meet consumer/customer needs.
Lead regional cross functional project teams to ensure Project timeline and key deliverables (Cost, Capital, Quality and Customer Service) are completed for commercialization and launch of priority new products in North America
Works with Regional teams to influence project decisions within context of business environment and regional business objectives and strategy.
Support regional cross functional project teams in Commercialization, Launch, and Post Launch phases to ensure project schedule, cost, capital, quality, and customer service objectives are met for regional and global projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support global RD&E for complex projects on primary pack development and qualification then localize and adopt primary pack according to North America needs.
Lead & perform tests for both primary & secondary package components.
Qualify developed methods/instructions in internal and external manufacturing sites by attending required trials.
Lead packaging related key milestones to support cross functional team to build project timeline and participate in project meetings accordingly.
Issue component specifications, product recipes and pallet patterns, etc.
Support Product Data Management Team to build BOM in PLM system.
Lead cross business packaging initiatives.
Attend Technical Reviews and responsible for completing technical deliverables according to the Technical Review process
Manage projects according to SCJ processes and best practices through the Commercialization, Launch, and Post Launch Phases. Develop timelines, key milestones, and risk and mitigation plans.
Execute detailed project schedule to meet launch commitments for country defined in project scope.
Coordinate activities of functional team members to execute plans that will meet commitments of key deliverables
Support risk identification/mitigation plans to achieve project objectives
Assure all appropriate cross-functional subject matter experts are engaged to deliver key subprocesses and milestones required for the project, with focus on meeting cost of sales, capital, quality, and customer service metrics for the project (including first arrival date and case fill rates)
Provide project leadership within a regional cross functional team to drive the Commercialization and Launch of innovative projects
Maintain Project Documentation (Master Data in PWA, MS Project Timeline, Stage Gate Documents, Risk Register, Issue Log, OneNote, Close Out Report, etc.) as needed
Manage communication plan internal to team and project sponsors as needed to enable good decision making
Apply root cause analysis and problem-solving skills to identify the most critical factors that impact successful project implementation
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or technical field and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience or Master’s Degree and 3 years relevant experience.
Minimum 4 years of experience in packaging development environment.
2+ years experience in Project Management in manufacturing /product development/ purchasing / planning /distribution role
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
International experience and exposure an advantage.
Mold related packaging development experience an advantage.
Experience to interface, lead and build relationships with multiple levels and functions internal and external to the corporation
Ability to motivate non-direct reports; keep teams working well together
Possess clear and concise communication skills/collaboration skills, especially across countries; orchestrate effective meetings
Experience in new product launches, contract manufacturing, or financial analysis as it relates to operations
Strong team player
Ability to operate in a complex, non-structured environment
Proactive, result driven and self-starter
Proficiency in English language, both verbal and written
Core Business Hours
Ability to lift 10 – 40 pounds
