The Visualization Developer is responsible for providing analysis, developing global standard reporting, and managing delivery of critical metrics and reports/dashboards to drive focused and impactful decisions. This person will align with various business functions to seek a deep understanding of their processes, key business drivers and technical challenges. This role will mostly work in an Enterprise Data Warehouse and will deliver accurate reporting leveraging Tableau and Power BI.
This is an onsite roll in Racine, WI
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead discussions and interactions with various business functions to capture reporting and analytical requirements, use cases, create prototypes, and iterate on design with a product mindset.
Partner with product owner and business users to understand the problems to solve to make reporting recommendations and drive prototypes and design solutions.
Develop insightful, visually compelling, and engaging dashboards that will be leveraged globally by business leaders and executives.
Partner with data engineering, governance, and architecture team to ensure deliverable meet enterprise standards for performance, delivery, and security.
Educating business partners on tools and reporting capabilities that are available.
Lead reporting data validation with the users and SMEs leveraging the reporting tools and working with the data engineers to understand requirements and solve discrepancies.
Responsible for defining and maintaining best practice guidelines for data visualization and consumption.
Learn and champion new reporting strategic technologies within the SCJ landscape.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related business degree or relevant military experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
5+ years of demonstrable expertise leveraging modern BI tools like Tableau, Power BI, etc.
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Experience using data preparation tools like Alteryx and Tableau Prep
Proficient in writing SQL code for modifying and transforming data
Knowledge of star schema and dimensional modeling techniques and standardized reporting principles
Business data analysis skills
Partner and collaborate effectively across multiple team members in multiple time zones.
Ability to work independently and within a team setting.
Ability to ask questions effectively with our business partners that lead to deeper understanding of the business problem, seen as a value-adding business partner.
Able to negotiate and adapt to changing situations and audiences.
Ability to quickly synthesize data from multiple sources and visualize results, skilled at data exploration.
Able to translate business needs into relevant BI and analytics.
Able to provide ad-hoc analysis to answer business questions and present to business users effectively.
