Global Director, 3 PM/Supplier Quality

The Quality Director of 3rd Party Manufacturers and Suppliers leads a global team that is responsible for approval and oversight of all SCJ suppliers and 3rd party manufacturers in achieving industry best-in-class quality results.  Assures compliance with regulatory requirements and SCJ procedures and guidelines. Improvement in product Quality and performance, reducing variability at Suppliers and 3rd party Manufacturers to ensure we are driving end to end quality strategy and management through all 3 Business Units (Global Consumer Brands, Lifestyle Brands and Professional).  This will enable SCJ to drive the best selection and sustained continuous improvement of our suppliers to ensure we are delivering on business objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead a high performing team and manage all aspects of supplier quality organization. Hiring, developing, coaching and mentoring staff including setting individual and team goals and conducting performance reviews.

Responsible for all aspects of quality of supplied materials and products produced globally including 3rd party manufacturing sites.

Develop and deploy quality strategy, programs, and roadmap for 3rd party manufactures, material suppliers Audit suppliers and contract manufacturers to ISO-9001 and applicable FDA requirements. Audits activities to include: Develop an audit plan, prepare audit reports, communicate findings, audit responses, compliance assessment including assessment of compliance risk.

Accountable that the audit schedule and approved supplier list are maintained, and up-to-date ensuring supplier classifications are accurate.

Accountable for the supplier compliance of: Audits, Supplier Quality Agreements (SQA), SCARs, Process Change Notifications (PCNs) and effective closure of audit non-conformances.
Monitors and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as, global regulations and expectations (e.g. FDA, ISO, etc.).

Assure all SQM related quality documentation and records are completed thoroughly and timely to maintain compliance.

Monitor and report on meaningful SQM performance metrics as well as Supplier performance metrics.

Collaborate with a cross-functional team to improve processes/share responsibilities to include leading a Supplier Review Board.

Responsible for supplier performance and Supplier Process Capability Metrics

 Establish strong relationships within the Procurement and Contract Manufacturing divisions to assure we are driving the voice of quality into these respective systems and processes.  In addition, providing strong customer service to these areas and Manufacturing to ensure our suppliers are delivering good quality product

Development of Supplier escalation and negotiation programs to ensure that issues are getting elevated to the right levels in SCJ and within the Supplier’s organization to ensure we are addressing and solving issues and losses quickly and completely.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, Chemistry

At least 10 years’ experience working in Quality across multiple global manufacturing locations

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

Masters degree

Manufacturing experience in FMCG industry

Operational Quality experience

Shaping Strategy and Global Perspective

Driving Execution and strong ability to influence individuals, both upwards and downwards in organization

Job Requirements:

Full-time with expectation to be available for calls & meetings across time zones

Variable global travel required, estimated to average 20-30% annually
