Global Marketing Brand Manager - Disruptive Brand Incubator

The Global Marketing Brand Manager - Disruptive Brand Incubator is responsible for testing and learning future profitable growth opportunities through the identification and incubation of new products, new brands, and go-to-market / channel innovation.  Seeking a curious, collaborative, resilient team player with drive to challenge the status quo, do things differently and celebrate failure as a necessary step to achieving success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities for disruption in our Global Consumer Brand core categories via new products / technologies, brands and channels through analysis of macro trends, consumer and category insights, competitive threats, and limitations within SCJ’s existing portfolio.
  • Build a new platform or brand to experiment and prove out new ideas leveraging iterative test-and-learn model. Create and execute go-to-market strategy to bring the opportunity to life (product, positioning, pricing, channels, communications) aligned with learning plan and iterative approach.
  • Lead the development and implementation, in collaboration with our partners – e.g., creative agency, 3rd party eCommerce platform, performance marketing agency--of a breakthrough creative campaign in support of learning agenda

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience

  • Advanced Degree
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, challenge conventional wisdom, approach work with confidence and curiosity, and prioritize action over precision
  • Excellent ability to work with cross-functional teams – to influence them, push them, encourage them, listen to them, celebrate them, trust them, and unleash them to do what they do best. Teams typically include RD&E, CIBA (Consumer Insights & Business Analytics), Design, Legal, GSARA (Regulatory), Product Supply and Finance.
  • Passionate and opinionated – has a well-formed point of view on everything from the best candy bar to the next disruptive technology in home cleaning
  • Insatiable curiosity for brand, advertising, and start-up stories and trends, evidenced by frequent consumption and incorporation of external inspiration into work engagements
  • Loves to tinker – with processes, products, and language – because they enjoy it and it helps produce continuous improvement
  • Acknowledges tradeoffs, takes calculated risks, and owns outcomes. Celebrates action and results (including failures!) more than meetings and PowerPoints.
  • Strong willingness to figure out something they don’t understand, simplify complex situations, and remove barriers by challenging assumptions and recommending alternative courses of action
  • Ideally has prior global CPG experience, eCommerce experience, and/or experience working with marketing commercialization teams across countries
  • Proven project leadership capability and propensity to grow within brand management roles
