The Global Manager of Procurement, Active Ingredients leads the overall management of Global Procurement for the categories of Insecticide, Repellant Active Ingredients and Essential Oils that are used in our Pest Control formulations. This strategic category represents $110 MM in spend and encompasses a high level of technical, regulatory and supply complexity.
In this role, you’ll develop and lead a global Procurement strategy for Pest Control Active Ingredients to deliver on cost & working capital improvements, innovation, risk management, and sustainability. You’ll build and sustain strategic relationships with Active Ingredients suppliers, drive contingency plans to assure supply continuity and responsiveness in supply of required Active Ingredients, identify alternate supply sources, and deliver a balanced risk approach in business award decisions.
Bring your experience in partnering with R&D, Regulatory and other enterprise stakeholders to drive preferred status in the presentation of new Active Ingredients, external technologies, and other new product opportunities, while creating an advantaged cost position for SC Johnson (SCJ). You will engage with senior cross functional leadership at suppliers that have strategically committed to defend their Actives in Markets that are enacting ever-stricter regulatory framework.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Own and lead the Global Strategy for Global Active Ingredients: Develops and executes Global strategy through:
Development of key levers and strategies for the Global Active Ingredients utilizing the regional regulatory framework, market access and SCJ business requirements
Negotiations with global suppliers across cultural and regulatory environments
Global Supplier sourcing and New Product (Innovation) support
Supplier evaluation and selection
Engage with key business stakeholders to achieve alignment on long-term strategies to deliver business growth through Innovation and long-term sustainable business delivery.
Manage supplier relationships to drive preferred market access, product innovation, speed to market, supply assurance and other business objectives.
Deliver committed cost savings, working capital improvement, sustainability, and other value creation goals for the global spend.
Develops supply & demand analysis to drive global strategy, supplier selections and delivered profit margin improvement.
Maintains up to date knowledge of global/regional supply markets, commodity trends including global and regional influences and communicate forecasts and market dynamics to key stakeholders as part of budgeting process
Lead & manage special projects in support of long-term business plans, e.g., spec optimization, complexity reduction, new product launches etc.
Influence and partner cross-functionally with R&D and Regulatory Affairs (GSARA) and Commercial business in the development of new formulas, specifications, to better manage cost, regulatory and supply risk among others.
Develop internal team to drive results in all the strategic levers (such as resiliency, cost, working capital, sustainability, innovation, supply assurance).
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or military experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement
7+ years of work experience in Procurement, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
5+ years in a Procurement Portfolio role
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
MBA or master’s degree in Science, Entomology, Chemical Engineering, or Biology
Experience in Raw Materials/Chemicals Procurement
Experience in a Fast-Moving Consumer Goods Industry
Knowledge of Regulatory affairs
Business experience in Manufacturing, Engineering and/or RD&E in a supplier facing role
Strong Financial Acumen and Influencing Skills
Ability to collaborate cross functionally and interface with multiple levels of both internal and external organizations
Knowledgeable in current and future policies, trends, technology, and information impacting the business and organization; knows how the business and competition works
Up to 25% travel to Asia and Europe
Manage in multiple time zones
