Sales Director, Account Management – Lead International Walmart

The Sales Director is responsible for building sustainable business relationships with Walmart and providing unified strategic direction and support of Walmart Global Business. This position will act as the liaison between Walmart and SC Johnson, and coordinate the Global Joint Business Plan. This position interacts closely with Regional Global Walmart Teams and International Walmart Team located in Bentonville, AR.  The Sales Director must possess strong leadership skills and have the ability to influence globally.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and direct business activities for WM International across all operating countries and SCJ Subs
  • Develop, implement and achieve a WM International Business Plan including growth and financial targets
  • Work as a liaison between WM International Management in Bentonville and in-country management
  • Keep SCJ Sr. Management informed on WM initiatives, sales progress, and future direction of customer
  • Provide support to in-country teams in the development and presentation of T2T, Visioning meetings and JBPs
  • Drive annual Top to Top Global Review of WM International business
  • Point of SCJ internal accountability for WM Global Business
  • Provide teaching/training for both SCJ and WM in-country personnel and share best practices across countries
  • Assess business and resource needs and communicate recommendations to address opportunities to SCJ corporate and local Sr. Management
  • Enhance our relationship and quality reputation as top supplier with WM in all countries
  • Direct activities and oversee development of 1 Regional Business Manager and 1 Global CATS Manager
  • Travel ~ 40% of time to local countries in support of the above activities

    Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Solid Sales background – 7 to 10 years combined Field Sales / Sales Management experience. Additionally, couple of years in Marketing Commercialization/ Global Marketing/ Customer Marketing would be preferred
  • Global experience/exposure
  • Previous experience working with Walmart
  • Proven track record of delivering objectives consistently / HIPO
  • Ability to develop and execute fact based business plans
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of customer selling process and negotiation tactics
  • Understanding of the customer’s business models and the key drivers that impact the customers P&L, from the customers as well as from SCJ’s perspective
  • Demonstrated experience building customer relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to manage up and across organization. Influencer with ability to get things accomplished through others

    Leadership Skills:

  • Shows understanding of issues relevant to the broad organization and business; keeps that knowledge up-to-date; has and uses cross-functional knowledge
  • Cultivates and leverages an active network of relationships inside and outside the organization; manages differences with diplomacy
  • Ability to work cross functionally to deliver customer needs (finance, supply chain, customer marketing)
  • Oral communication in group and individual situations
  • Ability to perform in depth analysis and recommended appropriate action
  • Ability to adapt to changing work and customer demands
