Senior Associate, Global Digital & Social Media Communications

The Global Digital & Social Media Communications Senior Associate is a member of our larger Global Corporate Affairs and Communications team. This position has a critical role in the development of creative, data-driven branded digital content for SCJ’s corporate websites and digital channels, to continue building awareness and trust within targeted online audiences.

SC Johnson’s total compensation packages are at or above industry levels. In addition to salary, total packages may include bonuses, long-term incentives, matching 401(k) contributions and profit sharing based on company profitability, job level and years of service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enhance SCJ’s corporate digital storytelling, reputation management, and amplification strategy by leading efforts to identify new content opportunities and curating content for corporate websites and social media channels to create more meaningful user experiences

  • Serve as digital content subject matter expert/project manager, implementing robust governance/inventory/content audit procedures and providing strategic counsel on corporate digital storytelling strategies through data analysis

  • Help build content strategies that incorporate content development to digital design, while working with researchers, content providers, web developers, editors, designers, project managers, IT staff and others across the organization

  • Develop data-driven content matrices and editorial content calendars to track and manage content updates, creative branded content mix, storytelling and reputational content opportunities

  • Help develop content against other organizations to understand content strengths, weaknesses and gaps. Build a comprehensive understanding of key audiences, their nuances and their needs to make informed recommendations on strategy.

  • Develop new processes and workflows to increase efficiency, driving quality standards and stay on deadline

  •  Assess and advise on best practices and applications for new digital communications and marketing tools

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal cross-functional partners including Global Marketing, HR, IT, Government Affairs, and Agency partners

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through personal training and development

  • Engage and perform duties for special Corporate Reputation Initiatives projects as assigned

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in communications, marketing, public relations, marketing, or related field)

  • Minimum of 2 years communication experience in corporate, government, and/or PR agency

  • Experience in corporate, digital content, social media, marketing or public relations environment that includes direct responsibility for web and social media strategy support and execution strategies

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills — working knowledge of a second language is a plus

  • Ability to function effectively in a demanding, fast-paced and constantly changing work environment   

  • Knowledge SEO/SEM and content management tools

  • Understanding of digital ecosystems (primary website content followed by social media)

  • Understanding of corporate communications and public relations experience

  • Demonstrates strong analytical skills

  • Ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

  • High level of professional integrity and discretion
