As the Senior Associate, Toxicology, you will be responsible for developing and guiding technical teams on the environmental toxicological elements in support of a portfolio of product development projects. Responsibilities include conducting environmental safety reviews of experimental product formulas, consumer placements and marketable finished goods. Specific tasks include reviewing relevant published literature for relevance, utilizing computer models to conduct environmental risk assessments, developing and monitoring of environmental exposure studies for data to be used in the risk assessments, and monitoring the industry for environmental toxicity issues which may impact our products. In executing these responsibilities, you will be accountable for documenting decisions in an appropriate manner consistent with internal processes and/or industry standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicating project success criteria, key findings and decisions to project teams and international counterparts for transparent global product launches
- Review experimental product formulas and consumer placements for environmental toxicological and safety concerns during the product development process
- Utilize study-related information, relevant published literature, and current exposure models to develop environmental risk assessments for final determination of product approval
- Engaging innovation teams to understand risk profiles for non-traditional product concepts
- Support and execute substantiation for environmental safety-related claims
- Distill scientific and complex subject matter into upper management communications during issue management or public relations scenarios
- Participate in governmental discussions, trade associations and/or industry task force as assigned
- Support the consumer resource center during emergency response or consumer complaint situations
- Refine and maintain current departmental processes and procedures
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Degree in Environmental Toxicology with at least 2 years of experience in environmental risk assessment or an Advanced degree in Environmental Toxicology (or related field)
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Experience with consumer product-related environmental toxicology issues and knowledge in the area of environmental risk assessments associated with pesticide products, cosmetic and/or personal care products.
- Experience with critical evaluation and study coordination of environmental toxicological and/or exposure studies
- Familiarity with international chemical and consumer product regulations including, but not limited to, CPSC, EPA FIFRA, US FDA, and/or EU BPR regulations and experience with global government authorities
- The desire to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, including R&D, marketing, Legal, public relations and government relations departments
- Strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and OECD requirements
- Past experience with representation on industry task forces or working groups is a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong formal presentation skills
- Teamwork – Ability to work effectively with internal and external cross-functional team members in a cooperative, co-located and/or virtual environment
- Full time Monday-Friday with expectation to be available for calls & meetings across time zones
- Business travel as necessary
