ROLE SUMMARY

Based in Rosslyn, South Africa you will be responsible for controlling the Sales Freight and Other Distribution Expenses for the Sub-Saharan region. In this role you will partner with the Supply Chain organization to deliver cost margin improvements by supporting with the identification and delivery of various initiatives. Moreover, you will lead the month-end closing activities, drive financial planning & analysis and address negative variances.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead Sub-Saharan SF/ODE reporting and analysis, providing high quality variance and root cause analysis.

  • Lead reviews with key stakeholders and presenting to management.

  • Lead month-end closing for Sub-Saharan entities ensuring all costs are appropriately recorded, book provisions and create account reconciliations.

  • Business partner with Sub-Saharan Supply Chain teams and coordinate the development of forecast updates across different sites & owners and reflecting risks & opportunities.

  • Business partner to address root cause negative variances and actively participate in building a sustainable multiyear cost savings program to drive SF/ODE margin improvements.

  • Lead the obsolescence and EOL SKU management process across the Sub-Saharan region.

  • Provide RFP (Request for Proposal) and negotiation strategy support including participation in negotiations as necessary delivering optimal costs and terms (i.e., freight bid, contracts etc.).

  • Ensure full compliance with internal controls (SOAR) and DOA’s.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum B Com / B Com Honors (SUBJECTS: Management Accounting /Financial Accounting Financial Management)

  • Part-qualified/Qualified CIMA/ACCA/CA will be considered a competitive advantage

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG/Supply Chain environment/Finance Business Partnership/support role (at least 3 years specifically within Supply Chain support will be considered a competitive advantage, including supporting Logistics into Africa)

  • ERP systems experience (SAP would be an advantage)

  • Strong Analytical and Accounting skills

  • Comfortable with presenting, challenging, and working with cross-functional teams across geographies.

  • Ability to implement and enforce internal controls

  • Problem solving attitude and drive for results

  • Teamwork and values others, and cultures

  • You need to be legally eligible to work in country of application.
