Senior Analyst, Accounting

  • Support the regular processes undertaken by the Finance Team, including Month End closing, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Reconciliation of General Ledger accounts prepared locally and review of all reconciliations quarterly
  • Preparation of statutory compliance required by third party organizations or the government including GST, WHT returns and Statistical returns and assist the Finance Manager with other forms of compliance including external audits, internal control development and testing, income tax and FBT returns
  • Ownership of the AP process, assisting admin with PO creation and working with the Shared Service Centre (SSC) on payment
  • Lead compliance for SCJ, including monthly and quarterly Account reconciliations, internal audit process and employee expense claims process, ensuring adherence to policies and controls
  • Identifies risks that impact P&L performance and proactively communicates to stakeholders

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead key processes such as Staff Expense Claims, Manual Payments and monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Develop recommendations/solutions stemming from complex analysis
  • Prepare AU and NZ working papers for Income Tax (tax rec and IDS), GST, and FBT
  • Prepare Statistical Returns for AU and NZ
  • Prepares and assists in budget and reforecast working papers
  • Assist in internal and external audits, providing documentation and working papers as auditors require
  • Co-ordinate processing of Employee expense claims and Intercompany non-inventory invoices

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Must be degree qualified, ideally in commerce / accounting or finance

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP, BPC (or similar accounting software)
  • Intermediate to advance skills in Excel
  • Past experience owning the AP process is essential
  • Knowledge of Australia taxation law (NZ knowledge desirable)
  • Understanding of Australia Accounting Standards (NZ knowledge desirable)
  • Experience in preparing Monthly operational reporting with variance analysis for various teams of company such as sales, marketing and administration
  • Exposure to preparing and assisting in budget and reforecast working papers
  • Be able to demonstrate how you’ve utilized existing policies and practices for guidance and utilizing for a creative approach to problem solving
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills in dealing with finance and non-finance business partners across all levels of the business
  • Develops strong cross functional relationships, overcoming obstacles and differing point of view
