The manager of global media data & technology will serve as the Global Consumer Brand teams expert on traditional and digital media data and technology within the Media and Integrated Marketing (MIM) team. The MIM team is responsible for strategy, planning, buying and implementation of traditional and digital media and activations for our core brands and markets around the world in partnership with the Media Agency and Brand leadership. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Media & Integrated Marketing, the Manager is responsible for harnessing media data and technology to uncover and develop better ways to drive growth and optimize our brand connection plans.
Key Responsibilities
- As the expert in media data & technology, the Manager is expected to work closely with internal and external partners—including media, data & analytics, shopper, technology and insights agencies— to develop, execute, and steward our media data & technology strategy and roadmap designed to drive improved performance, efficiency, and competitive position.
- Major areas of focus within Media Data & Technology:
- Media (Vision, Strategy, Planning and Usage of Media Data & Technology)
- Organizational governance and continuous improvement for data quality, tools & technology
- Thought Leadership on best practices, learning agenda & innovation for marketing effectiveness and new data & tech opportunities
- External Partnerships for data, technology and tools
- Agency Collaboration & Management, in partnership with the GCB MIM team Lead
- Manage and optimize the impact of our media budget in partnership with internal analytics teams and brand owners
- Collaborate with and lead a team of media leaders to leverage data & technology to drive growth
- Define the strategy and use cases for media data and technology with key marketing teams and regions across the org.
- Drive capability development and program management for execution of media data & technology with regional MIM leaders and agency partners.
- Collaborate with Consumer Insights & Business Analytics (CIBA) team on media data & technology’s role in marketing effectiveness including requirements, metrics, new tools & processes.
- Lead MIM team and agency partners adoption and application of pre-, in- and post-flight reporting & optimization way of working and use of tools including dashboards and measurement solutions.
- Co-develop global and local learning agenda and testing plans with MIM, CIBA and agency partners to drive improved outcomes and scalable best practices.
- Collaborate with internal data teams (BPT) to ensure media data quality and controls for taxonomy compliance and media & content guardrails are in place with agency partners and internal teams
- Influence and connect on internal data hub priorities and requirements for MIM to ensure dashboards are fit for purpose for end users
- Elevate capabilities and knowledge across the organization bringing thought leadership on new technology and best practices on data for Consumer Products to drive advantage for our brands
- Develop a clear SC Johnson point of view on media’s use of consumer data (1st, 2nd, 3rd party) in partnership with MIM, Legal, CIBA and agency partners to drive media optimization and incremental growth
- Support MIM team in general media reporting and internal analysis of plans, progress and results
- Own external media data & technology partnerships contracts and usage across the MIM team
- Manage external contractors where relevant tied to media data & technology programs and execution in markets
Required Experience you'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Experienced data & analytics professional (6 to 8+ years)
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Client, Agency or Partner experience
- Collaborated with sizeable teams
- Impacted media buys ranging from $30-$200MM or greater
- Experienced in digital marketing, data and technology with a media background
- Able to build organizational expertise on media data and technology and deliver results in a resource constrained environment
- Strategic leadership and analytical thinking with the ability to create clear actions plans for execution for appropriate accountabilities
- Able to navigate a matrixed organization and influence senior leadership across markets and disciplines
Job Requirements:
- Full-time
- Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees.
- Up to 25% travel, primarily between Racine and Chicago
