ABOUT THE ROLE
Assist in the completion of federal and state income tax returns and other tax matters.
Gather information for tax return preparation, audit support, and analysis.
Assist domestic tax staff on special projects and research, as needed.
This is an onsite role in Racine, WI
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, the Associate Manager, Federal/Domestic Tax will be responsible for assisting with the U.S. federal, state, and local income tax matters of S.C. Johnson and its U.S. subsidiaries. Tasks will include sourcing and gathering information, performing analysis, preparing underlying workpapers to support tax positions, and conducting tax research.
Prepare U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns for S.C. Johnson and its U.S. subsidiaries.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of U.S. tax compliance rules.
Maintain tax compliance software (Corptax) to ensure all compliance requirements can be completed and on a timely basis. Leverage income tax compliance software to complete calculations needed for compliance and planning purposes.
Complete the year-end provision calculations, account reconciliations and tax return true-up calculations for U.S. subsidiaries.
Lead the preparation of the U.S. R&D tax credit, which includes sourcing and gathering information, performing analysis, leading meetings with technical personnel, and preparing necessary workpapers supporting the credit.
Provide support and assistance to other domestic tax personnel and work on special projects.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with a minimum of 3 years of federal/state income tax experience at a public accounting firm or large corporation managing complex compliance requirements.
1-3 years of Microsoft Office and tax technology systems.
Legally authorized to work in the United States
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
An advanced degree and/or certification as a Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred.
Ability to work independently and complete responsibilities with quality and on time.
Corptax experience is strongly preferred.
Knowledge and familiarity of SAP.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to foster relationships and work in and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Strong analytical skills and strong organizational skills for multi-tasking.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full-time. Overtime is expected at certain times, including but not limited to year-end close, tax return filing season, and when working on time-sensitive projects.
Minimal domestic travel, occasionally overnight, primarily to attend seminars, users’ groups, or meet with subsidiary personnel.
Professional office environment.
