Summary:
The Global Data and Analytics team at SC Johnson is looking to add a Manager,Senior Data Architect to its team to meet the growing need for data and analytics services and products. In this role, you will make business data intuitive, reliable, and easy to use as part of a team of experts whose mission is to collect, connect, collaborate, and deliver data and insights for our business customers. You will collaborate with business and technology partners to strategize, crystalize, and build prioritized roadmaps for diverse, ambiguous, and evolving analytic products, driven by a data mindset — data architecture, data models, and data flows.
This is an onsite role in Racine, WI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Translate business requirements and end user’s needs into architecture blueprints that deliver cost effective & high performing, high quality analytics solutions in compliance with S C Johnson’s standards, policies, and long-term technical strategies.
Lead discussions and interactions with various business functions to capture data and analytical requirements and build a data roadmap.
Define and maintain best practice guidelines for applying data warehouse/data lake modeling methodologies to design and develop appropriate data staging, integration and reporting structures that would provide for scalable and efficient reporting and analytics solutions.
Provide assessments of architecture, devise strategies, and create roadmaps for technologies such as Azure Synapse, Fabric, ADF and Power BI.
Facilitate cross-functional workshops to establish processes for data ingestion, validation, mining, engineering, modeling, visualization, artificial intelligence, and analytics.
Works with master data and data governance teams to define best practices for master data and meta data management
Work with data governance team to define taxonomy, master data domains, identify critical data elements, develop master data model, build data catalog and implement data quality rules.
Lead the development of normalized and star schema data models (Conceptual, Logical and Physical), data dictionary, ETL mapping and data virtualization.
Lead and actively engage in design sessions, demonstrations, prototyping, testing, and training workshops in collaboration with business users and IT associates.
Translates data strategies into data integration frameworks and reporting to enable business analytics.
Lead design and data model reviews with delivery teams.
Required Experience You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Management, or related field.
8+ years of experience in data/database design and development, including data warehouses, data lakes and master data management systems.
3+ years of experience working with Azure data platform capabilities including ADLS, Synapse, ADF and Power BI.
5+ years of experience as Data Architect
5+ years of experience with data modeling skills including strong foundation in data warehousing concepts, data normalization, dimensional data modeling, OLAP or data vault.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Experience with modern cloud data platforms like Microsoft Azure Data factory/ Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks or Google Big Query.
Working knowledge of master data management systems (MDM), experience in data warehouse and MDM integration.
Strong understanding of data quality management principles and practices.
Sound knowledge of data governance key functional areas like MDM, data catalog and data quality
Experience working with different SAP platforms like SAP ECC, SAP PLM, S/4HANA etc.
Partner and collaborate effectively across multiple team members in multiple time zones.
Ability to ask questions effectively with our business partners that lead to deeper understanding of the business problem.
Able to negotiate and adapt to changing situations and audiences.
