WHAT'S IT LIKE TO WORK AT WAXDALE?
Development | Safety | Belonging | Appreciation
SC Johnson’s largest manufacturing facility’s teams are dedicated to safely making quality products that are aligned with SCJ’s standards. At Waxdale, we build team engagement through a culture of learning and support where teams are proud to drive productivity and continuous improvements in our products and processes.
Learning From Each Other
Many events and opportunities are arranged for teams to learn from their peers in manufacturing as well as from other teams across the company at SCJ. Waxdale’s very own Learning & Development team provides programs to enable and inspire growth within functions across Waxdale. In addition to the examples below, Waxdale team members are involved in hosting broader education events for teams from other SCJ functions through experiences such as tours of our testing facility and presentations at SCJ’s annual Learning Week.

Saluting Our Veterans
A Welcoming Community at SCJ
More than half of SCJ’s U.S. employees who identify as military veterans have careers in our manufacturing facilities. Learn more about our commitment to developing a diverse, inclusive and welcoming environment that recognizes and values these individuals for their contributions.
Impact on Our Community
At SCJ, we believe that every community where we operate should be a better place because we are there. To live this commitment, our team members can choose to participate in efforts such as our annual Earth Week Cleanup as well as optional donation drives through United Way and other local partner organizations.

RENEWABLE ENERGY AT WAXDALE
To safeguard the planet, reduce our footprint, and keep costs down, SC Johnson is committed to renewable energy initiatives. At Waxdale, our facility is powered by a combination of landfill gas, windpower, solar energy and natural gas.

Manufacturing Appreciation Month
Manufacturing Appreciation Month (MAM) is our annual celebration of the hard work and commitment of production teams. Each year, several events and activities are held to show appreciation including special recognitions from leaders and peers, games, time to network and participate in special events and meals together, spirit days, giveaways and more.
