About the Role:

As our Senior Analyst, Accounting you will be a part of the SC Johnson ANZ Finance team reporting directly into the Manager, Accounting ANZ.

This is a varied role which will support the regular processes undertaken by the Finance team, including month end closing, budgeting and forecasting, reconciliation of general ledger accounts and review of all reconciliations quarterly. In addition, you will work on preparation of statutory compliance required by third party organisations or the government including GST, WHT returns and statistical returns as well as assist the Finance Manager with other forms of compliance including external audits, internal control development and testing, income tax and FBT returns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead key processes such as staff expense claims, manual payments and monthly balance sheet reconciliations

  • Develop recommendations/solutions stemming from complex analysis

  • Prepare AU and NZ working papers for Income Tax (tax rec and IDS), GST, and FBT

  • Prepare statistical returns for AU and NZ

  • Prepares and assists in budget and reforecast working papers

  • Assist in internal and external audits, providing documentation and working papers as required

  • Co-ordinate processing of employee expense claims and Intercompany non-inventory invoices

  • Identifies risks that impact P&L performance and proactively communicates to stakeholders

  • Lead compliance for SCJ, including monthly Account reconciliations, internal audit process and employee expense claims process, ensuring adherence to policies and controls

  • Ownership of the AP process, assisting admin with PO creation and working with the Shared Service Centre (SSC) on payment

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Degree qualified, in commerce / accounting or finance

  • Solid financial accounting experience ideally from the FMCG sector or a blue chip organisation

  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP, BPC (or similar accounting software)

  • Past experience owning the AP process

  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel

  • Intermediate knowledge of concur

  • Knowledge of Australia taxation law

  • Understanding of Australian Accounting Standards

  • Experience in preparing monthly operational reporting with variance analysis for various teams of company such as sales, marketing and administration

  • Exposure to preparing and assisting in budget and reforecast working papers

  • Develops strong cross functional relationships, overcoming obstacles and differing point of view

  • Strong analytical skills, with a structured & logical thought process

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent planning and problem resolution capabilities
