Summary:

This position is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of required training, programs, procedures, and documentation in accordance with all local, state, federal, and S.C.J. internal policies, procedures, and company initiatives.  Responsibilities include collaboration between plant personnel and managers to ensure a safe and hazard free working environment, as well as proactively addressing issues concerning safety, health, and environment while maintaining consistency across the site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•Assist in development/implementation of training materials, process aids, programs, and procedures for required SH&E training and programs.

•Demonstrate leadership traits that foster a drive to zero incidents and an injury free culture.

•Assist in the development and execution of audit (internal and external) action plans.

•Conduct or assist with audits, incident investigations, and site inspections of operational procedures, facility design, equipment, and materials for compliance with all applicable standards and regulations.

•Serve as an active member of Bay City SH&E Pillar to address any losses that could impact safety, health, and the environment.

•Ensure existing procedures and programs meet all local, state, federal, and S.C.J. internal policies, procedures, and company initiatives.

•Develop, audit and maintain applicable SH&E documents, tools, and systems.

•Serve as a consistent Mediator between regulations, plant management, engineers, safety coordinators and plant personnel.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

•Bachelor’s degree required.

•At least two years of related experience in a SH&E role.

•Strong communication and collaboration capabilities to work within plant and functional matrix organization.

•Strong computer proficiency in MS Office.

•Strong project/program management skills.

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

•Successful implementation of regulatory programs in a manufacturing setting.

•Ability to interpret regulations and requirements and apply those interpretations to manufacturing situations.
