As a Category Advisor with our team, you will utilize shopper and market research to recommend strategies for implementation with the assigned retailer to support growth in the total category.

  • Act as the Category Advisor for the retailer, while being an expert and champion of the shopper for the designated categories.
  • Bring an objective balance to decision making grounded in data and expertise, while adhering to SCJ confidentiality policies.
  • Expert in category assortment, space allocation, merchandising & adjacencies; advise retailer of ways to optimize category growth.
  • Develop weekly POS reports with an emphasis on long-term, strategic insights to improve category performance
  • Building and maintaining retailer’s modular files for designated categories.  Planogram set-up at retailer required.
  • Strategically consult with Shopper Insights counterparts on key business strategies
  • Maintain the CA-US relationship to share/ optimize learnings on assigned categories


  • University Degree (essential requirement)
  • Minimum 2 years in Category Management or cross functional analytic experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience using Nielsen data
  • Strong technical skills: ability to manipulate and analyze data
  • Ability to develop and execute fact-based presentations
  • Ability to address multiple projects, prioritize and handle accordingly
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategies and key tactical plans
  • Exemplary leadership and teamwork skills across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to utilize strong influencing skills while working alongside internal and external counterparts


  • Experience using Retail Link and JDA/ Space Planning
  • Experience in the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry
