Summary:

This role performs daily cash management activities (foreign currency trading, money market investment, external borrowing) for assigned markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Cash Management

  • Prepares daily cash position for assigned markets, working closely with other Shared Services Center(SSC) Finance teams in order to forecast ending cash balance correctly
  • Ensures appropriate level of cash is maintained in each bank account, balancing operating cash requirements vs. idle cash targets; safeguards against overdraft incidents; provides response to bank queries on fund sufficiency
  • Checks prior day’s bank statements to ensure all forecasted cash flows have been effected and are properly reflected
  • Provides instruction to Back Office Analyst for intra-company transfers or any domestic intercompany pooling / netting arrangements

Liquidity Management

  • Prepares monthly 12-month Cash Flow Forecast (CFF) for cash and liquidity planning; undertakes to improve forecast reliability by regularly monitoring actuals vs. forecast
  • Raises with Treasury manager any requirement for additional credit facilities, either with external banks or with intercompany sources
  • Provides inputs on proposed loan limits for covered entities; once limits are approved ensures loans outstanding are within the approved loan limits set by SCJ Parent Board; assists in the preparation of MEA requests for any loan limit increase

Treasury Trades

  • Executes trades with authorized counterparties (intercompany or external loan / investment) appropriate to manage the daily cash position of covered markets
  • Authorized to deal loans and investments with approved counterparty banks for amounts of up to USD1MM (no higher approval required); Provides benefit analysis and requests approval for trades (loans and investments) for amounts in excess of USD1MM
  • Ensures executed trades are compliant with relevant Treasury policies (Global Investment Policy, FX Management Policy), with established internal controls Sarbanes Oxley Assessment Readiness (SOAR) and Delegation of Authority(DOA) and with country / government regulations
  • Coordinates with relevant parties to deliver all documents, government filings or bank forms necessary for trade settlement and processing

Foreign Exchange Management

  • Executes foreign currency trades (spots, forwards), as guided by the FX Management Policy or as recommended by the Global FX manager; regularly scans market prices to ensure open positions are closed within the recommended parameters (hedge level, time, price)
  • Ensures executed trades are compliant with relevant Treasury policies (Global Investment Policy, FX Management Policy), with established internal controls (SOAR and DOA) and with country / government regulations
  • Coordinates with relevant parties to deliver all documents, government filings or bank forms necessary for trade settlement and processing
  • Prepares quarterly Foreign Exchange Exposure Forecast (FXF); undertakes to improve forecast reliability by reviewing actuals and comparing against forecast
  • Monitors and provides feedback on open FX positions; monitors the P&L impact of booked FX trades through the NPV analysis
  • Prepares and reports to Local Finance monthly Treasury P&L Analysis schedule showing P&L results of key Treasury activities

SAP Front Office

  • Enters all treasury trades in SAP
  • Uploads bank statements in SAP

Bank relationship management

  • Serves as primary contact for in-country bank relationship managers; provides first level resolution for any bank issue covering price, bank structure, funding, etc.; raises any complex relationship management issues with Treasury manager for follow through or resolution
  • Regularly connects with in-country team for market news/ development and new cash management solutions applicable to covered market

Others

  • Pushes for prompt payment of dividends by ensuring compliance to the SCJ Dividend Policy
  • Leads / participates in Treasury / Corporate projects as directed
  • Provides inputs to bank structure reviews as requested
  • Plans and arranges big-ticket funding requirements (ex. acquisitions)
  • Prepares year-end reports requested by Corporate Accounting
  • Provides documents and supporting calculations for external / internal audits requests

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance or any Business-related studies.
  • At least 2-year experience in similar roles involving Cash Management, Treasury Dealing, Financial Planning and Analysis
  • Good working knowledge of Treasury Accounting
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Preferred Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Certified Treasury Professional
  • Treasury SAP experience
  • Exposure to Regional Treasury operations and doing business with global banks
  • Exposure to Internal Controls

Job Requirements:

  • Full Time, Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 5pm
  • Overtime may be required based on critical deliverables
  • Early morning or late night calls with Corporate Treasury in the US may be required from time to time
