Manager, Benefits

This position serves as an integral member of SCJ’s Global Employee Benefits leadership team working across multiple areas and functions, including but not limited to COE’s, HR Operations, HRBP’s/HR Field, Finance, and Legal. This person will need to understand and support the Company’s short, medium, and long-term Global Benefit strategy to help achieve and support the broader Total Rewards strategy. This person will design and implement innovative global benefit programs, processes and practices that are responsive to the Company’s changing business needs and requirements.

Job Details:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a global benefits subject matter expert (with an emphasis on North America and U.S.), developing solutions aligned to the Company’s Global Benefits and Total Rewards strategy;
  • Proactively monitor and assess current benefit programs, market trends, legislative, tax and social changes that impact current programs;
  • Provide benefits expertise and leadership in the evaluation and selection of vendors, consultants, and other business partners, including the negotiation of fees and contracts;
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to inform evolution of strategies, consider and integrate feedback, and build action plans to address identified needs aligned with the overall Global Benefits and enterprise Total Rewards strategy;
  • Collaborate with Finance and outside consultants to conduct financial projections and cost management analysis.  Monitor trends and evaluate data to assist in developing recommendations for change.
  • Collaborate with Legal and other internal stakeholders as needed to ensure compliance with local laws, regulations and contractual obligations;
  • Engage in benefits industry organizations to maintain knowledge of current market trends and exploit partnership opportunities.

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • An advanced degree is highly desirable/preferred (MBA, Masters in HR, Finance or related discipline)
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in designing and managing benefit programs
  • CEBS or related designation is highly desirable
  • Experience with benefits on a global scale is highly desirable

  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing and communication skills
  • Proven ability to think strategically and to translate strategic directives into tactical initiatives
  • Excellent presentation skills with an ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely, and to respectfully question others to think through problems and opportunities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong, collaborative relationships within the Company and with external vendor partners
  • Strong financial acumen and project management skills
  • Experience with M&A and designing benefit programs across business units
  • Experience designing and creating processes to ensure that benefit programs are administered in an efficient and modernized way that provide value to the SCJ employee experience
  • Technical benefits knowledge

Job Requirements:

  •  Full time
  •  May require up to 10% international and domestic travel
