  • Summary of Role / Job Description:
      • Responsibility to lead Safety Health and Environment function/pillar in regulatory review, permitting, reporting, monitoring, compliance assistance and auditing.
      • Collaboration with Plant Leadership to meet and continuously improve Local/Corporate/Regional KPI’s that include a reduction and prevention of incidents, a sustainable SHE system and drive for zero losses.
      • Develop and maintain a visible safety culture, safe and healthy working conditions, environmental excellence and sustainability.
      • Overall responsibility for Site Security Services, Operations and Medical Staff.
  • Primary Accountabilities:
      • Develop and lead the site KPI metrics and functional/pillar goals and objectives in alignment with Site Strategy, Priorities and Glidepath plans.
      • Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of an Employee Driven Safety system and other culture change initiatives to embed safe behaviors and mindsets into all activities.
      • Coach managers and other leaders on establishing and leading a culture of Safety.
      • Provide SHE expertise to evaluate and support all contract manufacturers and co-branding licensees required per agreement or contract.
      • Work with GPS and Hub leads to ensure the site leadership of SHE Management Systems is suitable, adequate and effective to promote continuous improvement in SHE performance. 
      • Achieve and maintain SHE program external certifications in alignment with site/region objectives.
      • Obtain and comply with all required environmental permits.
      • Lead negotiations with regulatory agencies on permit conditions.
      • Monitor changes and ensure compliance with all local, state, and country SHE regulations for the site. 
      • Review SHE regulations and develop and lead implementation of compliance plans.
      • Support Global Public Affairs and Communications initiatives to revise proposed regulations if/as needed.
      • Monitor trends (e.g. NGO initiatives) that could affect company operations.
      • Performance Management (performance reviews, coaching, development) of direct reports.
      • Develop and manage SHE budget, labor and professional services to include training programs to promote staff development.
      • Provide SHE expertise as SME in response to GIA (Global Internal Audit) and other External Audits and Inspections. 
      • Elimination of any non-conformance and work to develop and implement benchmark improvements.
      • Lead efforts to eliminate losses/incidents and non-conformity through effective investigations and CAPA.
      • Participates as a contributing member of the site leadership team and performs staff functions, as required.
      • Leadership of Site Security Services and Contractor Management.
  • Qualifications:
      • Seven or more years of expertise leading Safety, Health & Environment functions and teams.
      • Bachelor’s degree required.
      • Demonstration of Lean Knowledge and Tools – Mastery of applicable Safety tools and systems.
      • Strong communication and collaboration capability to work within plant and functional matrix organization.
      • Strong Computer proficiency in MS Office.
      • Ability to develop and deliver Safety training to site.
      • Solid project management skills, knowledge of TPM and mastery of the training and development process.
      • Safety, Health, & Environment Leadership Experience in a Manufacturing or Production Environment.
      • Global network experience – proven experience working across a manufacturing network.
      • Master’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety, Industrial Hygiene strongly preferred.
      • Experience with SAP, Entropy preferred.
