ABOUT THE ROLE
Drive Safety and Compliance Through Scientific Expertise
As an Associate, Ingredient and Raw Material Assessment, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our products worldwide. Leveraging your knowledge of chemistry and regulatory standards, you will manage and maintain raw material specifications within our PLM system, ensuring accurate data that supports chemical compliance and product integrity for SC Johnson. This position is ideal for detail-oriented professionals passionate about raw material safety, regulatory frameworks, and contributing to products that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Raw material assessment and documentation: Create, edit and release raw material and pure substance specifications, ensuring that each raw material meets regulatory and internal compliance standards and is acceptable for use in SCJ formulas in the desired countries of sale
Data Integrity, Audits, and Assessments: Review specifications and supplier data for consistency and accuracy; provide support for Not Allowable Materials (NAM), VOC and regulatory assessments
Data Remediation: Take corrective steps as required from data reviews and audits; work with suppliers and business partners to obtain incomplete or missing regulatory data
Analysis: Recommend raw materials for consolidation or elimination, understand and communicate the impact of raw material changes on formulas; assist in the creation and/or continuous improvement of regulatory processes and procedures
Data Protection: Interface with Law Dept to secure Confidential Disclosure Agreements (CDAs), uphold confidential information in all practices
Communication: Partner with team members from Global Safety and Regulatory Affairs, RD&E, Procurement, Legal and Quality to support business needs; present requirements to partners
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in scientific discipline
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Basic understanding of raw material chemistry (organic/inorganic, physical form, structure, impurities, by-products)
Strong communication skills
Strong skills in Windows-based software packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Detail-oriented, accurate, and self-motivated
Previous experience in PLM a plus
Experience in project management a plus
Experience with chemical regulations a plus
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full time onsite role in Racine, Wisconsin
0- 5% travel
Remote work is available once per week for eligible employees
This role is not eligible for relocation
