SC Johnson is looking for a Sr. Associate, Linux Administrator to join our Hybrid Cloud Engineering team. This role will play a key part in maintaining SCJ’s business critical Linux environments including SUSE and Red Hat. In this role you will assist in the planning and execution of strategic environment initiatives such as hardware migrations, OS upgrades, SAP system refreshes, backup & recovery activities, Disaster Recovery planning & testing. Successful candidates will have experience supporting Linux environments in medium to large enterprises supporting key business Applications, preferably SAP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Planning and execution of system lifecycle and roadmaps for x86 Linux environments supporting core business applications
Provide guidance to Level 2 Operations teams during critical system issues and outages.
Oversee and ensure proper execution of ongoing maintenance activities such as Backups, Disaster Recovery tests, system patches and upgrades
Work with cross-functional teams to support application and database initiatives including upgrades, patches, refreshes and migrations
Assist in the planning, design, and execution of Open System migrations to Cloud providers including Azure
Identify, analyze, and resolve complex system related issues
Clearly communicate status of projects and incidents to key stakeholders
Managing and providing current usage statistics and providing future projected growth estimates
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related business degree or may consider the relevant military experience in lieu of degree requirements
2+ years of experience supporting x86 Linux environments supporting critical Enterprise applications.
1+ years of working knowledge of scripting and automation tools within one of the following: Ansible, Bash, Python, UNIX shell, Etc.
2+ years working with enterprise storage solutions including SAN, NAS, Fiber Channel, and iSCSI
Experience working with Enterprise Backup and Recovery solutions
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Experience working in an environment running Enterprise scale Linux systems
Experience with migrating Linux environments to Azure or other Hyperscale’s
Strong automation experience writing Ansible playbooks, python, Bash scripting
Experience in working with onsite/offshore support models/framework
Self-driven and ability to identify tasks/activities required to keep the environment healthy
Understanding of performance and capacity management and reporting
Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, Gigabit Ethernet) and storage (SAN, RAID levels, fiber channel)
Understanding of the network layers and network infrastructures
A critical thinker who focuses on the continuous improvement of our Open systems environment and personal development of technical and professional skills
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full-time- Onsite in Racine, WI
Remote work is available once a week for eligible employees
May work occasional nights and/or weekends
Able to travel up to 10%
This role is not eligible for domestic relocation
