Associate Manager, Tax

Are you a tax and accounting professional looking to broaden your regional exposure within a leading multinational organization? We are seeking an experienced Associate Manager, Tax to oversee tax compliance, statutory reporting, transfer pricing governance, and accounting activities across multiple Asia entities.

In this role, you will partner with regional finance teams, Corporate Tax, Shared Service Centers (Hub), external advisors, and government authorities to ensure compliance, manage tax risks, drive process improvements, and support strategic business initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Regional Tax Compliance & Advisory

  • Manage direct and indirect tax compliance across assigned regional entities.
  • Provide tax advisory support to finance and business teams.
  • Monitor tax legislative developments and assess business impact.
  • Recommend compliant and tax-efficient solutions.

Corporate Income Tax

  • Manage tax provisions, tax returns, tax payments, and tax accounting activities.
  • Coordinate Pillar Two compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Support tax audits and respond to tax authority inquiries.
  • Review work prepared by external tax advisors.

Indirect Tax & Regulatory Compliance

  • Oversee GST, SST, VAT, JCT, and Imported Service Tax compliance.
  • Review and submit indirect tax returns and payments.
  • Lead e-Invoicing and Stamp Duty implementation initiatives.
  • Coordinate Certificate of Residence applications.

Transfer Pricing Governance

  • Coordinate monthly transfer pricing calculations and annual true-up adjustments.
  • Support transfer pricing documentation and filing requirements.
  • Monitor compliance across regional entities.

Accounting & Financial Reporting

  • Support monthly and year-end financial close activities.
  • Prepare and review journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting submissions.
  • Coordinate regional cross-charge activities.
  • Manage financial planning and reporting processes.

Statutory Reporting & Audit

  • Lead statutory audits and coordinate with external auditors.
  • Prepare reporting schedules and financial information.
  • Ensure timely resolution of audit queries.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain strong tax and accounting controls.
  • Support SOAR compliance requirements.
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and finance transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain tax-related standard operating procedures.

What You'll Bring:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, CIMA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience in tax and accounting within a multinational company and/or Big Four environment.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Corporate income tax
    • Indirect tax (GST, SST, VAT, JCT)
    • Tax accounting
    • Statutory reporting
    • Transfer pricing (Good to have)
    • Regional tax governance

Key Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Business partnering and stakeholder management
  • Project management and process improvement skills
  • Knowledge of internal controls and compliance frameworks
  • Experience with SAP/S4HANA, BPC, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
