ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Portfolio Procurement Manager you will be accountable for the overall management of the Paper & Printed Materials category for North America across all Business Units. You will develop and execute sourcing strategies and supply agreements for Corrugated Packaging, Folding Cartons, Labels, and Flexible Materials. This role develops strategic supplier partnerships to ensure continuity of supply and deliver cost, innovation, sustainability, working capital, and service objectives. You will partner cross-functionally and with suppliers to support innovation and drive profitable growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and own the regional Procurement sourcing strategy and deliver objectives for supply continuity, cost savings, working capital improvement, sustainability, innovation, and service.
- Manage key supplier relationships across the region and maintain a deep understanding of relevant markets and the supply base.
- Execute category strategies through RFPs, supplier evaluation and selection, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Lead supplier selection and component pricing for innovation projects and support those projects through commercialization.
- Partner with suppliers to identify and implement new product and process innovations that drive profitable growth.
- Lead Paper & Printed Materials sustainability goals and objectives.
- Develop inflation forecasts for the SCJ budgeting process, track commodity movements, mitigate inflation, and provide contractual pricing information to Operations teams.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in Procurement Portfolio/Category Management, Product Supply, Finance, or 5 years of relevant experience an advanced degree. related discipline.
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- Two or more years of experience in the fast-moving Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
- Experience with paper packaging and/or Procurement Operations.
- Strong strategic procurement capabilities, including market analysis, strategic sourcing, negotiation, clean-sheet/should-cost analysis, and strategy execution.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple organizational levels in a matrixed organization.
- Strong financial acumen, including analysis of financial data and understanding of P&L and balance-sheet levers, combined with experience in Design to Value, risk/opportunity management, and strategic sourcing.
