Summary:
The Procurement Manager – Regional Indirect Logistics & Supply Chain manages the end-to-end strategic sourcing and procurement process for Europe, Middle East and Africa with annual spend of USD $150+ Million and a supply base of 1200+ suppliers.
Leads all Logistics, Plant Facilities & MRO, Utilities/Energy and CAPEX procurement activities (category and project), including strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract management.
- Provide thought leadership and innovative strategies for optimizing sourcing effectiveness.
- Coordinate and work with global/regional stakeholders to support long-term business strategic goals
- Coordinate corporate-wide teams to establish scope of work, processes, policies, and procedures to manage demand for assigned category
- Establish strong supplier relationships, effectively manage category supply base, perform advanced and intricate negotiations, and oversee selection of key suppliers
- Ensure expedient and compliant implementation of new contracts.
- Actively monitor vendor and internal performance against contracts, industry benchmarks, and previous baselines. Develop and submit reports for Executive management.
- Identify and evaluate market changes and new technologies -- make appropriate fact-based recommendations
- Manage and/or lead preparation and evaluation of RFIs and RFPs
- Oversee roll-out of new vendor contracts and processes to all users
- Track and report on performance metrics
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Define the Logistics and Supply Chain and Plant Facilities & MRO Procurement Strategies to establish supply sources, maximize current and future market conditions, and define contingency planning to ensure critical supply needs are met;
- Establish end-to-end process with ownership and commitment to procurement strategies throughout planning and execution; Establish and maintain portfolio of strategic agreements and key supplier relationships to manage risk to SCJ in procuring category group materials and services (i.e. pricing, supply, quality, etc.);
- Establish and evaluate performance metrics for group of categories; Drive engagement of procurement with the Regional Logistics and Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to optimize value creation and delivery to SCJ;
- Drive external and marketplace knowledge of the latest category dynamics, trends and best practices; Identify, prioritize and drive implementation of continuous improvement opportunities;
- Oversee high level risk management activities (and gain risk management expertise) for respective category areas
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM):
- Develop and manage mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers; Engage in joint business planning with supply base; Contribute to establishing metrics and evaluate, develop, and prioritize approaches to meet business objectives and benefit targets; Manage supplier performance based on performance objectives; Oversee the quarterly business review process for key suppliers; Provide high level of issue resolution where necessary (supplier quality and service)
Sourcing & Procurement Management
- Direct Logistics and Supply Chain and Plant Facilities & MRO procurement activities (category and project), including strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract management; Provide leadership and support during sourcing initiatives, including total cost of ownership model development, category strategy development, fact-based negotiation strategy development & execution, supplier evaluation & selection, and category implementation.
Customer Relationship Management
- Drive efforts to understand internal customer needs and summarize business requirements as input into enterprise-wide sourcing efforts; work to identify, prioritize and manage requirements for current, new, and changing corporate activities; Proactively engage internal partners to communicate solution recommendations based on category, market and sourcing information; Ensure customer needs are met via ongoing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)

- Project Management: Planning, implementing, monitoring, and completing projects, ensuring effective management of scope, resources, time, cost, quality, risk and communications.
Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
- Education: BS Degree in Science/Engineering/Supply Chain Management; MBA preferred
- 7+ years of business experience in a relevant business function, with proven track record. Experience in Procurement for Logistics and Supply Chain and/or Plant Facilities &MRO and depth of procurement skills in key tools such as clean sheets and total cost of ownership preferred.
- Understanding of categories and category-specific procurement processes/issues/strategies.
- Understanding of current supplier markets, products, customer demands, and future trends.
- Regional experience and strong cross-cultural awareness and leadership capability
- Ability to interface with multiple levels of an organization internally and externally
- Ability to work in matrixed, cross-functional environment
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Project Management expert
- Ability to develop regional business cases and strategic business plans
- Demonstrated skills include organizational communication and networking ability, strategic thinking, leadership, strong influencing skills, high level communication, negotiations, and problem analysis
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with senior leadership from key suppliers and engage them in strategic supplier management for value creation and innovation.
- Broad range of roles and experience across functions and businesses including supply chain.

The expected gross salary range for this position is between 85 800,00 EUR - 107 250,00 EUR. Job related skills, experience, and education, will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive, and/or long-term incentives.
