National Key Account Manager – Grocery (Germany)

• Location: Erkrath, Germany

• Function: Sales

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Key Account Manager to lead and grow one of our most important Grocery accounts in the German retail landscape. You will drive strategic customer plans, unlock growth opportunities, and lead annual negotiations at the highest level.

In this role, you will manage central relationships with major retailers such as EDEKA and Netto, participate in international Everest negotiations, and own customer strategy from planning through execution. You will work collaboratively across the business, guiding cross‑functional teams to deliver against customer targets while ensuring strong commercial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategic and operational management of assigned German retail customers (e.g., EDEKA, Netto)

  • Develop, refine, and execute annual customer plans aligned with national and customer‑specific goals

  • Own sales performance, profitability, and market share targets

  • Independently prepare and conduct annual negotiations at the central level, ensuring timely internal and customer alignment

  • Participate in international Everest negotiations

  • Identify and quantify business opportunities through continuous 4P analysis

  • Collaborate daily with key internal stakeholders (Supply Chain, Demand Planning, Customer Marketing, Finance)

  • Deliver proactive reporting on performance, risks, and opportunities

  • Oversee data quality and ensure insights from Associates support strategic customer plans

Experience you’ll bring:

  • Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or equivalent

  • 3–5 years of Key Account Management experience, ideally with EDEKA or other major German retailers

  • Proven understanding of the German and European FMCG retail environment

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills

  • Ability to prioritize, execute with speed, and deliver results independently

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data for business decisions

  • Experience working cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, evolving environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (advanced level preferred)
