Job Title: Senior Associate, Packaging Engineer

Location: Bangkok, Thailand

Department: RDE PCM (Product Change Management) Asia

As Sr. Associate Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for purposing executing global and regional commercialization projects for all regions producing in Thailand. This position has local and regional responsibilities on Packaging development and qualification.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Packaging development and qualification
• Issue packaging component specifications and product recipes. Specify pallet patterns.
• Support Global RD&E for primary pack development and qualification in accordance to Global/Asean needs.
• Compatibility testing, preparation and decision together with relevant engineer.
• Perform and decide on primary packaging / component tests (like ECT test; torque test; etc.).
• Qualify developed methods/instructions in Manufacturing by attending the execution of required trials and support Manufacturing in Production Line Qualifications (PLQ)
• Support remote/local SCJ manufacturing sites and/or contractors.
• Issue/support packaging recipes when the change is not affecting performance
• Evaluates and approve packaging materials (including also 2nd sources) localizing the RD&E PCM requirements to local/regional needs
• Coordinate for production of required products and samples for Marketing/Trade and compatibility testing
• Evaluation on new contractors' ability to produce SCJ products up to SCJ standards

Additional Roles:

• Team member for roll out of NPD projects across all categories (Air Care, Home Cleaning, Pest Control, Home Storage)
• PCM Asia representative in Global/regional meetings
• May/will be a lead for relevant internal PCM Asia packaging related issues

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

• Communication – Ability to effectively communicate new ideas and approaches to audiences ranging from local / regional management to key stakeholders.

• Shows Integrity and Reliability
• High Personal Ownership
• Demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Decision maker for problems up to a medium grade of complexity without supervision
• A minimum of bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Industrial Technology/, Industrial Design, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent engineering program.
• 3 years or above in the packaging field
• Good proficiency in English
• Ability and willingness to travel throughout region to support product qualification at SC Johnson and contract manufacturer facilities.
