ABOUT THE ROLE

Ready to lead a multimillion-dollar business and make an impact with some of the region's most respected grocery retailers?

As a Manager, Sales Account Management, you'll own and grow a $25M+ customer portfolio, serving as a strategic business partner to key grocery accounts across Upstate New York. This highly visible role combines customer leadership, business planning, category growth, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver winning outcomes for both SC Johnson and our retail partners.

Working directly with Wegmans and in partnership with broker teams supporting Giant Eagle and Northeast Grocery, you'll develop growth strategies, identify new business opportunities, execute promotional plans, and drive exceptional results across a broad portfolio of trusted consumer brands.

We're looking for a commercially minded sales professional with experience in consumer-packaged goods, retail, account management, category management, or customer development who thrives on building relationships, influencing decisions, and delivering business growth.

This role is part of a developmental career path designed to expand your leadership and commercial expertise over a 2–3-year assignment, with future opportunities across the organization that may include relocation.

This position is remote and ideally suited for candidates based in Pennsylvania or Upstate New York near key customer locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Incumbent will be held accountable for directing all activities of assigned accounts to assure achievement of growth/dollar objectives

  • Build strong customer relationships that result in partnership opportunities which drive sales, market share and profit

  • Incumbent will develop secure approval and implement an annual corporate business plan aligned with corporate objectives in place prior to the commencement of the new fiscal year, while working cross functionally to assure execution of the plans

  • Provides account specific promotional plans, recommendations to Director of Corporate Accounts to ensure achievement of account growth goals and develop ongoing customer plans that are in alignment with corporate and customer goals for multiple accounts

  • Initiates the process of account specific deployment/selection plans and participates in decision on replacement personnel in divisional locations

  • Lead and develop brokers skills to deliver SCJ Strategies and Budget objectives

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant business experience

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Technical Skills

    • Sales experience in a CPG company

    • Willingness to travel to meet customer needs

    • Previous experience in category/shelf management or Trade Marketing

    • eCommerce execution experience

    • Demonstrate an understanding of grocery eCommerce

    • Working knowledge of Consumer Insights and application potential

    • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the TPMax tool or similar promotion planning tool

    • Demonstrated ability to penetrate the account at all levels adding value to the process

    • Previous ABM/MABM (internal or external) experience and proficiency in computer skills and financial knowledge

    • Understanding of the customer’s business models and the key drivers that impact the customers P&L, from the customers as well as from SCJ’s prospective

    • Ability to balance risk versus ROI.  Understand risk, profit contributions and JVM.  Balance critical financial needs of SCJ versus account

    • Demonstrated experience building customer relationships

  • Leadership Skills

    • Previous experience providing strategy and direction to customers and employees

    • Experience in sales account management

    • Experience working with a wholesaler, broker, and/or a retail sales team

    • Experience with shopper marketing and/or marketing to lead retailer-owned consumer facing execution

    • Demonstrate effective (internal or external) people management skills

    • Ability to motivate cross functional groups to common goals

    • Ability to penetrate the account at all levels adding value to the process

    • Ability to adapt to changing work and customer demands

  • Decision-Making Responsibility

    • Account specific strategic business plans

    • Sales forecasting

    • Deal spending within budget

    • Distribution recommendations for account

    • Merchandising recommendations for account

    • Pricing and promotion recommendations for account

    • T&E spending within budget

    • Business responsibilities (with supervisors’ alignment)

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Field-based, remote role

  • Up to 25% travel

  • This role is not eligible for domestic relocation

In addition to salary, total packages may include bonuses, long-term incentives, matching 401(k) contributions and profit sharing based on company profitability, job level and years of service. The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 121,680.00 USD - 159,705.00 USD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives.
