We are looking for an Associate, Development Engineering – Packaging to support the technical development of new and improved packaging designs that deliver meaningful benefits to consumers and help us win on the store shelf.What You’ll Do
As an Associate in the Packaging Development team, you will:
- Contribute to the development of new packaging materials and product innovations.
- Support line extensions and technology improvements for global brands.
- Research materials and components to design cost‑effective, consumer‑preferred packaging.
- Help advance SCJ’s sustainability goals (e.g., PCR content, recyclability).
- Conduct packaging testing, analyze results, and prepare technical reports.
- Create and update packaging specifications and bills of materials.
- Participate in manufacturing trials and support smooth transfer of projects to production.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners under the guidance of a Global RD&E Manager.
What You Need to Succeed
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Packaging or related engineering fields (Mechanical, Materials Science, Chemical, etc.).
- Fluency in English.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of packaging disciplines such as dispensing systems, materials, closures, plastic molding, manufacturing line requirements, and compatibility testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, results-driven mindset.
- Ability to build effective working relationships across teams.
- Experience in project management or CAD is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint).
Additional Details
- Full-time role.
- Up to 25% occasional travel may be required.
- Work involves both office and laboratory environments.
- Ability to lift up to 20 kg when needed.
