ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Chemical Plant Operations Manager you will lead the operations responsible for safe receipt of materials and production and on-time delivery of quality batches to Liquids and Aerosols operations. This is a fast paced and fun role with significant decision-making responsibilities. This role is a key member of the Site Leadership Team and reports to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations. This is a critical leadership role that contributes to the success of both the daily site operations, leading a 24x7 team of 48 people to achieve safety, quality, delivery and costs goals, and business critical projects, collaborating with RD&E and Strategy teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensures safe and efficient operations that produce quality products on-time at expected cost
Collaboratively works with site functions such as Safety, Health and Environment, Quality, Material Handling and Scheduling to drive decisions and solve problems
Continuously improves chemical plant by embedding lean manufacturing principles, tools and techniques to improve performance
Leads strategic planning including cost savings, capital planning, and resource allocation to meet current and future requirements
Provides leadership that positively manages change and promotes teamwork, cooperation, and employee development
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field. Relevant military experience considered in lieu of degree requirement
7+ years of relevant work experience
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
Leading operations of Chemical Processing or Compounding in a high-speed manufacturing environment
Delivering safety results including safety culture improvements
Ensuring Process Safety Management (PSM) and ISO or equivalent compliance
Working within a continuous improvement environment, delivering impactful results
Experience in project leadership including strategic planning, project management, risk management, change management and people leadership
Self-starter with high initiative and ability to prioritize, coach and collaborate
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full-time with ability to work as needed to support operations and coach and communicate with team members including 2nd and/or 3rd shift hours
This position is not eligible for remote work
This role is eligible for domestic relocation
