ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Associate Manager, Category and Shopper Leadership to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a trusted category advisor and/or captain, working closely with our retail partners to drive mutual growth and success. Leveraging your expertise in category management, you will lead the development and execution of data-driven strategies that align with the retailer’s performance objectives and long-term vision. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence key business decisions, shape category direction, and deliver actionable insights that enhance the shopper experience and optimize shelf performance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides tailored solutions and recommendations for Walmart based on insights derived from comprehensive analyses and research across diverse data sources

  • Extracts and analyzes data from various sources, including syndicated data sources, panel data sources, retailer POS systems, and space planning tools

  • Applies category and aisle expertise to offer recommendations on shelf merchandising and item placement

  • Designs shopper-centric modulars using JDA drawing software, Shelf IQ, etc.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree with 3+ years of relevant experience

  • Experience in a retailer-facing role with at least one year of this experience in category management, category/sales analytics or shopper insights

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

Technical Skills

  • Advanced skills in Nielsen/IRI, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and space management software (JDA Space Planning and/or Apollo.)

  • Advanced skills in pulling, manipulating and analyzing syndicated point of sale and shopper panel data (Nielsen, Numerator, and/or IRI.)

  • Accurately analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to uncover observations, insights and key learning’s

  • Ability to develop retailer-specific strategic and tactical recommendations and solutions

  • Previous experience analyzing retailer-supplied point-of-sale data and/or retailer loyalty card data

  • Previous experience using data warehouse tools

  • Working knowledge of category management principles and practices

Leadership Skills

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required for building internal and external relationships and working on a high-performance team

  • Proactive and committed to delivering results in a fast paced, demanding work environment by fostering a sense of urgency, energy, ownership, and a curiosity to search for opportunities

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Full Time onsite role in Rogers, AR

  • 10% Travel

  • Office work environment: Remote work available once a week for eligible employees

  • This role is not eligible for relocation
