This role is responsible for leading the Logistics team in APAC towards achieving the business and supply chain KPIs. This role will be a key member of the APAC Supply Chain Leadership team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead the logistics function - which includes international transportation into APAC, Warehousing and Domestic transportation for APAC - including:

  • Manages annual logistics budget
  • Design, develop and implement the APAC logistics strategy to support business goals
  • Evaluate and incorporate the mega trends in Logistics – including automation, visibility & digitization - into the SCJ Logistics operations
  • Build a logistics team that effectively manages the operation to optimize service & cost
  • Accountable for the flawless execution of the Logistics optimization program
  • Proactively identify opportunities and execute plans to reduce costs
  • Implement network changes to meet the overall network design blueprint
  • Accountable for developing collaborative solutions with stakeholders that result in improved service and reduced cost.
  • Develop relationships with logistics service providers (LSPs) and ensure performance expectations are met with a continuous focus on reducing costs through cooperative initiatives
  • Establish annual goals and objectives to support strategic business initiatives, managing performance to ensure goals are met
  • Manage a team of over 55 people located in multiple location across APAC
  • Develop deep functional and sustainable capabilities in the team
  • Foster a culture of high performance, focusing on engagement, accountability, and collaboration
  • Drive year over year improvement in employee engagement
  • Drive a LEAN thinking mindset
  • Ensure all logistics operations are operated in full compliance to all relevant SCJ and country legal standards regarding health and, safety, environmental, dangerous goods management, transport, quality, and import / export regulations

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or other relevant discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in Logistics, LSP management & Customer Supply Chain from major multinational corporations with similar complexity; FMCG, Pharmaceutical, Industrial.
  • Strong communication skills – ability to communicate with all the levels of the hierarchy

  • Exposure to implementing network redesign ideally across multiple countries.
  • Well-developed commercial acumen and financial management capability.
  • Has the ability to build teams and foster teamwork and enjoys working with diverse people and styles.
  • Demonstrates the ability to think deeply, strategically, and quantitatively about business problems
  • Forms networks of positive business relationships that enhance personal and business success
  • Shows ability to facilitate networking for the key players across the organization.
  • Strong analytic skills: the ability to powerfully portray data and leverage to drive continuous improvement
  • Possess a deep understanding of Logistics and the relationship with other business functions.
  • Prior experience in Planning, and knowledge of Manufacturing/3PM Operations will be advantageous.
