ABOUT THE ROLE
As Administrative Assistant (and Business Services Administration Specialist), you will be an integral part of the legal team closely supporting SC Johnson’s attorneys and paralegals, as well as internal clients, outside counsel and other vendors. This is a fast-paced environment that provides legal support for the Company across the globe.
To be successful, you will manage multiple priorities with accuracy and urgency, including meeting schedules, calendars, travel arrangements, expense reporting, and client communications. Due to the nature of the accountabilities and work of this team, you must be flexible and manage highly sensitive and confidential information, while also ensuring the department operates smoothly and efficiently.
This position reports to the Senior Director and Attorney - Global Employment Practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides detail-oriented support to Legal Department staff with appropriate level of urgency and be able to handle multiple projects, prioritize and manage their work, and interact cooperatively with members of the Law Department and with clients
Helps manage collaboration technologies, including SharePoint, OneDrive, MS Teams, and OneNote as well as maintain proficiency in Microsoft suite programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Work in and support various Legal Department-related systems and processes such as Legal Tracker, trademark certifications, specialized legal documents (e.g., powers of attorney), and entity ultimate beneficial owner information.
Process bills and help support budget management, answer and process telephone calls, sort incoming mail for functional area, manage files for functional area
Communicate directly with clients and outside counsel regarding ongoing legal issues and activities, with minimal attorney supervision.
Follow the ethical requirements set forth by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State of Wisconsin for the management of legal work, including maintaining confidential information.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of relevant experience working in a clerical, office, or administrative support role
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Experience as an Administrative Assistant in a legal environment
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient with MS Office, collaboration tools, billing software, case management systems
Demonstrated integrity, teamwork and professionalism
Ability to exercise confidentiality at all times
JOB REQUIREMENTS
This position is located at our corporate headquarters on Howe Street in Racine
Standard 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday business hours
This role is not eligible for relocation
