ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Senior Associate, Recreation & Wellness, you will play a lead role in advancing SC Johnson's commitment to employee wellbeing, engagement, and workplace culture through the delivery and continuous improvement of recreation, fitness, wellness, and employee experience programs. Operating with a high degree of independence, this position provides execution for program operations, special events, retiree engagement initiatives, wellness campaigns, facilities, communications, vendor partnerships, and business operations supporting Recreation & Wellness.
Reports to the Manager, Recreation & Wellness and collaborates closely with a peer in an equivalent role to ensure effective day-to-day operations. You will serve as a trusted subject matter resource and primary operational lead for assigned programs and initiatives, partnering across Benefits, Human Resources, Occupational Health, SHE/Safety, Facilities, Communications, and external vendors to create a seamless employee experience. This role influences participation, engagement, and well-being outcomes through data-driven decision making, exceptional customer service, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and coordinate recreation, fitness, wellness, and employee engagement programs, events, campaigns, and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational wellbeing goals and a positive participant experience.
Manage program operations, including scheduling, registration, communications, vendor and instructor relationships, facility coordination, and event logistics.
Administer retirees, intern, wellness champion, recreation club, and biometric screening programs, serving as a key point of contact for participants and stakeholders.
Provide administrative and operational support, including recordkeeping, membership management, budgeting, purchasing, reporting, and resource coordination.
Deliver exceptional customer service and support employees, retirees, interns, and visitors with program participation, wellness resources, and facility-related inquiries.
Develop and manage communications, marketing materials, websites, intranet content, newsletters, and promotional campaigns to drive engagement.
Coordinate facilities, equipment, inventories, ticket programs, recognition programs, and vendor partnerships to support efficient operations.
Track program participation, utilization, engagement, and financial metrics; prepare reports, dashboards, and recommendations to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
University Degree required and 2+ years of relevant work experience or an advanced degree with 1+ years relevant work experience.
1+ years of experience within exercise physiology, health and wellness principles, and behavior change strategies.
3+ years of experience in Microsoft Office and digital platforms for communications, scheduling, reporting, and program management.
1+ years of experience with experience working with third-party vendors and/or contractors
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or ability to obtain).
Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship for full-time employment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Demonstrated experience providing customer support, including in-person service, to customers with varying needs and backgrounds.
Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
Experience in recreation, wellness, fitness, employee engagement, or events.
Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills, including experience managing budgets, contracts, facilities, and operational programs.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make sound decisions.
Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of recreation, wellness, health promotion, employee engagement, facility operations, and program administration, and customer service best practices.
Experience using data and feedback to improve programs and outcomes.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Full-time position with primarily Monday to Friday, first-shift hours; occasional evenings and weekends may be required to support programs and special events.
Travel between local campuses and facilities required; limited overnight travel.
Ability to adapt work schedules as needed to support organizational and participant needs.
Ability to perform physical activities associated with recreation and wellness operations, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and moving equipment as needed.
Ability to work in both office and recreational facility environments.
This role is not eligible for relocation.
The role is onsite 5 days a week
