Associate Manager, External Manager Procurement Operations

As the Associate Manager, External Manufacturing Procurement Operations for North America Consumer Brands (NACB), you will execute strategies for assigned suppliers that ensure delivery of business objectives including Customer Service, Cost, Cash, Quality, Innovation, and Sustainability. In this role, you will ensure supply reliability for select Contract Manufacturers to support SCJ’s overall customer service targets, own and work cross-functionally to deliver on supplier performance measurement and drive continuous improvement process for EM suppliers and partner with product commercialization managers to ensure Innovation and new products are implemented on time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), leading regular reviews with SRM suppliers and driving improvements to supplier performance.  Facilitate regional SRM program by cleansing data, training suppliers, driving recurrent cross-functional meetings with suppliers, and validating scorecards/metrics for area of responsibility.
  • Ensures routines and rituals are set and occur to ensure supplier and SCJ are in conformance with all Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Manages assigned external manufacturers and works cross-functionally with supply chain stakeholders (e.g. Planning, Quality, etc.) to ensure EMs meet GCB requirements.
  • Leads implementation of NACB EM sourcing strategies including onboarding new EMs and Off boarding EMs.
  • Proactively assess supplier capacity and initiates improvements with suppliers and stakeholders to increase supply chain reliability and efficiency.
  • Partners with product commercialization team to represent Procurement in the delivery and execution of Innovation, product launches, graphics changes etc.
  • Ensures all internal and external audits occur and any resulting action items are closed for assigned scope of work.
  • Participates in various supply chain forums (S&OP, Innovation teams, etc.).
  • Ensures capacity availability at third party manufacturers and ensures finished goods meet NACB requirements.
  • Provides insights and recommendations for sourcing strategies. 
  • Identifies and implements process optimization to minimize cost, reduce waste, maximize efficiencies, and increase speed (e.g. MOQ, inventory, lead time optimization).
  • Ensures prices and other SAP parameters are well maintained (including price maintenance) for EMs.
  • Incorporates Brand and Corporate Sustainability strategies into EM plans to help ensure we are leading in CPG sustainability.
  • Continuous communication with Global Procurement Portfolio teams.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operation Management, Engineering or Finance, or military experience considered in lieu of education requirement.
  • 5+ years of work experience in Supply Chain, Procurement or related field or advanced degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods Industry.
  • Project Management, Supplier Management, Manufacturing, and New Product Commercialization experience.
  • Proven track record in building relationships and strategic alliances internally and externally.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP and Kinaxis preferred) 
  • Strong interpersonal communication, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and interface with multiple levels of both internal and external organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of production/process technologies like Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, OEE, TPM etc. 
  • Strong Financial Acumen and Stakeholder Influencing Skills
  • Ability to think strategically and objectively with an aptness for building viable action plans.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at a time and often under tight timelines.
  • Ability to analyze and assimilate relevant data into recommendations and decisions.
  • Manage complexity and ability to deal with ambiguity.
